Yes, I went this year, and will be heading next year as well. It is a great convention, with a beautifull location. I think it's worth the travel, because it's  a weekend, the 2nd day Circusplanet will organise a meeting. You have to find a place to sleep yourself though.

Last year the MFP was invited as one of the guests (Priam, Eric, Antonin, JiBe, Baptiste and Trash). There were a LOT of diabolists there. This year, we have other guests (including Norbi, which went this year as well though), and it's going to be awesome! Definitely worth it.

So, see you in February then maybe.

As Tijn said, i went last year. It was awesome, really really nice space on the first day (and Daan said they are trying to get the space again for the second day too, sweeet) great show line-up, and great people, definately worth attending.
As Tijn also said, i will be there again this year, and i'm really excited about that.

See you there.

I wouldn't count on the MFP in Ypres if I were you. For now, the only name that's officially announced is Norbi's. Other names of guests will follow. The information is on www.ieper.circusplanet.net but you already said that yourself. There's an English version of the site.

I was there last year, and it was great! I'll be going again this time. :)

The MFP won't be coming this year. They were a guest last year, so it's about time for some new ones

More information will be available in the next couple of months... just be patient :)

There probably will be a section on the website soon, with a list of hotels, B&B's etc. Last year we had a list with that stuff on the website... Please be patient :)

And other news, it's now officially confirmed that Stefan Sing will be there as one of the guests! Isn't that awesome? :D

He's one of world's famoust 3 ball jugglers. From rec.juggling:

Quote from: Top 40 most favourite/popular jugglers
- Voice over: 8
Stephan Sing climbs 6 places to number 8. This year the ball manipulation
master has performed around his native Germany, including the Berlin
Juggling Convention. He stars in a new instructional DVD produced by Alan
Blim and also teaches at the Juggling Katakombs.
Online he effortlessly keeps a high profile by the old video "Bremen 3
Ball Improv" which remains a strong favourite among 3 ball jugglers
everywhere.
At the moment Stephan's wife is expecting a baby and has convinced
Stephan to start growing his hair again to look more like a responsible
father.

Cut to interviw with Philip Meyhoefer, Stephan's juggling partner:
"Our new act will use over 40 different kinds of juggling balls, from
saggy beanbags, through footballs, and all the way up to walking globes.
The final sequence involves fire juggling balls too. You'll see it next
year in the EJC gala show."

First of all I apologise if this thread is a repeat of another similar one. I knew someone had probably started one like this but I couldn't find one using search. I don't think i missed one. Sorry if I did.

I just want to figure out who's going and who's not and i could do with some more info as I found it really hard to find much info in English.

two main reasons,
1) completely out of money, so travel there may be a bit hard

2) my mum happens to be pregnant... she wouldn't be to amused if i went to belgium... (i am only 16... sadly i do still live with my parents!)

Reason number one is good. Although it'll only cost you like £50, and its gunna be gooooood.

The second reason is pretty weak. I went placed when my mum was pregnant (and i was 12 at the time). Oh and i still live with my parents at 19, so ner ner ner ner ner

The festival starts on saturday 9.30, workshops at 10.00.

Shows are free after paying the entrance fee of 10 euro at the entrance of the festival.

There're still places left at the yought hotel for the night sat-sun.
If people are interested in the nights fri-sat and/or sun-mon I'll try to book it these nights as well. I took allready an option for those nights and it's still free.

1 night cost 12.80
Starting from the second night 10.80

The deal with the hotel now is that you can take breakfast at the hotel, without additional cost.

That looks like an awesome line up.  I checked out Victor Rubilar's site after seeing the "9-1 Nordic Objects" trailer from www.visionbot.com and really wanted to know who he was.  Marvellous stuff there, bet he hates football.  His "Good Looking Jugglers" act with Junio Toumen (sp?) looks good too.

I'm sure loads of other top diaboloists will be in Belgium and haven't put their name down.  Hope it goes well, I'm not going to Belgium...

The diabolo workshops will be:

13:00-14:00 : 1 diabolo trickc [Eric & Antonin of the Mad French Posse - France] advanced
14:00-15:00 : 2 diabolo tricks [Trash & Priam of the Mad French Posse- France] advanced
16:45-17:45 : Diabolo ‘advanced concepts’ [Vux of the Mad French Posse – France] advanced

So me, Arjan, Norbi and Pete (I don't know how you look like Pete, I hope you know me... :P I'd love to meet!) are coming, who else is going to be there?

Yeah that was me. Thanks alot. I think i was a little excessive with my 3d while i was there. But it was just such an awesome space to practice in. It was as high as you would ever need to throw, it was warm, Priam was practicing in the same room as me and there was no wind. Absolute perfection.

That are diabolo's desingned by Circus Jojo (Circus Jojo is a belgium jugglestore).
They designed it especially for kids.
They are verry small but also verry stable.

I thought that diabolo-niels uses them, but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Niels is still using G2's.

Niels use G2 and these diabolos for the 3 low (he's got more space to do suns and Co). That's right they're very stable for this kind of diabolos.

It was an awesome convention. It was tiring, and I'm a bit ill as well, but I had so much fun there. I'm already looking forward to next year! RoB filmed some stuff, and we'll make a video soon. And most likely others will bring out videos as well. I sure hope so! :D

Niels usually uses Finesses. He (and me too btw) was asked to try and promote the 'Spinner' medium sized diabolo that Circus Jojo introduced. So that's it.

Some more photos can be found here: http://foto.diastylo.nl Thanks Edwin!

Even if there was any, I don't think people would be allowed to put it online. They worked very hard for their show, so it would be a bit rude to just release it online. If you want to see it you just have to go and watch.

I liked Sur Le Fil, though it was a little bit disappointing. You'd expect much more after seeing the trailer. The trailer had the best bits in it, I had the impression that the rest of the show was just filling up time. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome show, and they are very creative and have awesome skills, but the trailer was 'too good' I think.

Great convention it was so cool!!!

@Pete: I was they guy doing 1d all the time and filmed you   I've got a cold as well, it was very cold and tiring (I played really the whole time, only drinking breaks 8) ) but so cool!!!

I had much fun with daan (thanks a lot to u if you're reading) and the other guys sleeping at his place! thx...

Niels is pretty good with 1d as well, I played with him a lot (He has developed an own integral to inmf suicide with some kind of left handtrap, will have to look at that). So many cool guys there, busk did inspiring things, thx a lot (U showed me some kind of arm slackwhip, but can't remember, so tutorial please  ...) And the french guys (Capitaine buisson, diabolumberto, ...)were just crazy...

Gies filmed me, I would like to have that stuff so please put it online

I will go next year for sure, the convention was so fun, I enjoyed playing all the time..(Still can't get it that it's over, I'm so sad  )
