thank you all for your awsome ideas!
:D
I got it!!!
the facts:
used a 16mm acryltubing(smaller diameters are bit too elastic) its a little bit fat but with wide axels its no prob(nice grinding sound)!
bendiness is about the same like 12mm wood
length: 33cm
weight: 42g - with transparent grip 60g
the hole sticklength is lit!!!!
they are really bright!!!!!
tips are durable, replaceable and dont kill the string!
battery changing is no problem and switching on/off is ok too(switch is in the end)!
--- there is an option for "lit when swinged mode" wich works with centrifugal force ---
i didnt use keychain lights because they are too expensive and too big!
i found my own solution, its not colorchanging or strobomode but looks awesome anyway.
i think the sticks are very durable... i didnt try to smash them full speed against concrete but im playing them now for 4days intensive indoor, without breaking them!
the lights are nearly indestuctibly.
i have many colors!!!
 :D

now my question:
i have some options to make them even more durable but it would add some weight, what weight would you prefer for any reason?

thanks a lot for your ideas people, you helped me a lot!!!!

sticks are now version 4.0 and in testing!
if you have some more ideas, no matter if technically or design, please share!!! :D  just think of my little budget
thanks for your help
sorry i have no pics yet because i dont have a cam,i have to lend me one soon!

I will pay for sticks and shipping...Give me a good price and I will definitely but them!!!
Please make more and sell...For some sticks, they should change colors after suicides.  That would be so awesome.  Thanks for figuring this stuff out for all us diaboloers...I would love to buy a pair they sound awesome!

Where string goes?
« Reply #24 on: February 21, 2006, 01:22:05 am »
Does the string come out the top? or how do you work it?  Does it go all the way through it like carbon fibers?...Maybe you could make the top screw off and on...and with a small hole for the string to go in so infinite suicides still work like those on the one below...

And once you start selling them...You better ship them out to Chicago!!

@ TD Moses
string comes out of the top!
you'll be my first customer, i promise!

its a little bit difficult  to sell the sticks at the moment because
im going to gran canaria for 3 months, to make diabolo shows there!
but its only a matter of time till you'll get yours!
maybe i can find a dealer for the materials i need at gran canaria, then you wont have to wait all the 3 months(hopefully)!
Price will be about 45€ (they are really worth the money) and for a little more, custom design(weight, thickness, length color, and more...) will be possible - batts are included
I have improoved them again, its now version 7.0!

news update:
diameter: 12mm stick, 16mm grip
weight: 60g per stick (perfect for G2+Evol4 i think)
illuminated tips
blue LEDs light up yellow string( )

maybe someone can help me to post pics of them!
im very new to internet things and i dont want to sign up to any picturewebsites, maybe you could post my pics here for me...
(7 pic together 500Kb & 1vid 3,2Mb)

@ tye
what do you mean by shorts or longs?

i just cant switch them off they look too good...

F.A.O Olobaid, if you have the images saved on your computer you just need to do the following so they can appear on a post in a thread

1)  Go here http://www.imageshack.us
2)  Choose to upload your image by clicking "Browse"
3)  Select the image you want and this should appear in the dialog box, then click "Host it"
4)  Leave it to upload the image
5)  Then copy the link which is used for "use in forums" or something along those lines

6)  Then open this particular thread, and put "Img" tags before and after the link you copied from earlier.  Bingo!

If you want to display more than one picture just repeat the process and remember to put Img tags before and after each individual link.

Hope this helps and I personally cant wait to see these pictures

« Reply #32 on: February 26, 2006, 11:56:22 pm »
:o
i was thinking the whole day about recharging possibilities.
yes the batts from evol4 fit into the sticks!
do you know where to get them without an evol4 kit? and is there a recharger for buttoncells?
i dont know exactly how long they remain because i dont want to watch them running out
but i used the batterys for testing in many prototypes. they are still bright! im sure they last longer than 5hours.
think it depends on the brand too.

2 type LR44 are needed per stick
this means 4 batterys to reload
it would be possible to recharge them in an unused Evol4kit
but what about the 2 batts which aren't needed to reload?
If someone here is good with electronics...

Excellent work there.  You seem to have come up with a great design that looks really quite elegant and not overly bulky either.  They might be a little bit on the fat side, but I think that can be forgiven for the effectiveness of them.  They look like they work really well.

Though you might end up with some blindness looking at the sticks too much and missing the diabolos completely.  But well done.

Is the hole for the string to come out of the top an L-shaped hole (hole in the side, hole in the end meet together) and then the knot just pushed inside?

\:D/ We have a winner!

Good stuff my friend.  A very professional job by the looks of things and I would take Moses advice and looking into pattenting sp? this.  I would be more than happy to invest in a pair once theyve been fine tuned and you as the manufacturer are completely happy with them.

thanks, thanks...
yes its an L-shaped hole
before this, i had replaceable tips on some other designs which were even more fat(16mm) but it doesn't really matter with wide axles i think. now i make different types, more pics will follow!
multiple suicides and inf. suicides are really easy with them :D
probably the most famos austrian diabolist (el diabolero) has ordered a pair because he like the weighting! 8)

about the distracting from the diabolo - thats why i made the whole sticklength lit with the led in the end, when the stick is in your hand the light is dimmed(looks cool when the leds shining thru your hand)so its not very distracting i think. but you are right together with this sticks a moon diab(without LEDs)nobody woud recognize at all but as long the diab has LEDs too...
looks ace when the stick is flying around the diab! i like my white ones wich aren't that bright, look like ice!

the funny thing nightplay is now easier than in daylight - catching the stick happens nearly automatically, just grab the light!!! and the surrounding is no longer distracting the player, first time i played in complete darkness i thought im in an virtual diabolo machine - only thing you see is the diab, the sticks, the string, and a bit of the floor youre standing on!

when i am not building, i try to find nice tricks with the sticks only(for the beginning of my show)

if somebody knows anything about patents(expensive i think) let me know too....
nice to hear your meaning!
