Nice, I can tell he's an awesome diabolist from his 2d smoothness and style. I'm really looking forward to see more and better stuff of him. Yet another very solid 3 diabolo juggler it seems!

Yep, they're planted in special breeding grounds where they grow up eating with handsticks out of diabolo cups (ok, this exaggeration falls down abit as chinese style diabolos don't have "cups" persay).

But it's just a cultural thing.  Like being good at football, or drinking.  I'm not sure why, maybe they don't watch as much TV.  Can't wait to watch the clips though, haven't seen anything of this fellow.

My friend is taught Chinese yo-yo at Chinese School.  It seems like it's very much a part of their culture.

Nice videos, the 3d especially.  He's got the same right-hand-dominant pattern that Yabe has.

I like the look of his 3d shuffle (Yabe's is still better). the 2d really looks awesome and the 1d looks amazing for non-diabolists..But if you try to do this jump-moves, you'll recognize that it isn't that easy as it seems...

Yeah, well, I guess that's what you get when non diaboloists put up videos of diabolo.  Sure, being able to do six jump rope jumps under a diabolo is pretty cool, but it won't be what experienced diaboloists are looking for... Oh well.

Alright, so those videos really didn't do him justice. But i assure you, he rocks. Maybe his tech skills arent what you expected, but they are better than that, and he makes up for it with unbelievable energy and style. I just really hope you get to see his WJF routine. Come to think of it now, there was A LOT of new stuff, but it was so so tight, just wait and see...

William is from mainland China, isn't he?  It's nice to see the Chinese whoop the Japanese, for no other reason than Japan's dominance.

I'll believe that there are more stormy tricks that he's capable of.  The fact that he looks very comfortable with 3 and readjusting his shuffle belies that.  He also got the Yabe Armstall in there at the end too.  Someone send this kid a camera and a firewire card.  Why did he even turn up to a convention on the other side of the world? Let me just check my address book...

Taipei County, Taiwan.

He went over because Ryo is his favourite diabolist and he wanted to meet him (probably would have been easier in Japan, but i guess he wanted to compete aswell).

He hopes to make it to Nottingham (for all you Europeans who want to know) although it costs a damn site more than it does to fly to Vegas.

As for the Ryo arm stall, he got out super cleanly in his routine. Oh another badass trick he did IN HIS ROUTINE was the 2 high skip whip thing (3401 maybe?).

His 3 low looks super stable and that sun was really quick and violent but still amazingly cool. His wrap acceleration looks a bit strange though, it starts like yabe's and then ends like Baptistes....sort of.

And now it seems that every oriental in the world can do the splits. At one point i really wanted to learn it so i tried and streched daily for weeks. Then i pulled a muscle in my leg and couldn't walk for 2 days... so i stopped!

ok, first of all, it's incorrect to refer to people as "oriental". only inanimate objects, such as furniture or artwork, can be correctly referred to as "oriental". it's considered rude to refer to anyone as oriental, kind of like calling a Japanese person a "jap". it's not officially vulgar, but it is agreed upon that it is a rude (and outdated) term and should not be used to refer to human beings.

anyway, enough grammar lessons...i'd just like to point out that doing the splits isnt really something you can just stretch for a few weeks and do. if you havent kept your body in proper shape all your life (or your body just isnt inclined to do it), it's going to be tough. not to mention if you're not doing the proper stretches in a proper regimen, you may have been not helping your body out at all.

what im trying to say is, it's possible for any young and fit person to do the splits (im going to assume that you're young enough for this, and your body is "normal"), it just takes proper training, and time.

About the "oriental" thing, I don't mind it, because the term Asian is just too large.  All very subjective, and I don't mind it.  Besides, hard to know where we are from, we all look the same    (respectfully submitted).

Splits are hard, and yep, some people are physically incapable of doing it, it's just something you find out.  I like how it steals a bit of Frebourg's thunder.  What I'm impressed with is how he keeps control of the shuffle when it's an inch off of the ground.  And he's not even that tall, which makes it even more difficult (higher size - diabolo size ratio).

I do want to see what makes him so awesome.  Is it he's just very solid with his tricks?  Or does he have some double-hard moves in his belt?  Would like to see more.

Sorry gonna correct you here anyone can achieve front splits it just takes time, middle splits are a completely different story though.

As for william good and all but maybe a little overhyped?

his style was very different. he has solid three stuff, but not much past what you saw in the video, and three high he can do a pirrouette and 441 well (all I saw him do with high), with one, hes got cool infinite suicide stuff (I think it was his best overall, and was really very impressive), and some fast body moves, but they are nothing compared to what the french guys do. He's got great style, and is very much geared to performance; not a whole lot past what he has consistent or is working on for a new routine. Great performer though. I think Yabe would have won with more preparation and if he wasn't sick, but William definitely deserved it. And I don't think anyone can match his jumprope skills, they were by far faster and smoother than I've seen anyone do. And I'm serious when I say that.

Yeah, let's not push the issue now.  If anyone remembers WJF04, personal footage of that was near impossible to see.  It's geared towards a US audience anyway, so ESPN will show it to you if neccessary.  It's not always cricket, remember.

I feel I´ve gotta ask. Why do the WJF put out vids of him doing such crappy tricks (besides his 3 stuff which looked pretty good)?

It´s obvious that he must have much harder and better stuff than that if he won against Ryo in a tech-competition. So why do the WJF put vids of him doing tricks that are very inferior to Yabes? Even though I could understand why they would want to save stuff for their DVD, they could at least show a few tricks that are worthy of first place.

P.S. I agree that his 3 sun look really cool. Is he able to combine it with an armstall, or is it too fast?

Why do people keep bumping threads from 2 years ago, it's driving me insane, i see a thread appear called video of william, get really excited, then click the link only to realise it's something i've seen years ago and have since had much much better videos of him. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
