I wrote a lot about this before... THer's a G1 extreme version with non-exchangeable tips, then there was a G2 model with specially shaped handles and exchangeable tips, this was prototype for the G3s without shaped handles and the exchangeable tips... You can find pictures here...have a look on the last few pages...

ok, ill make this as clear as i can from what little i know.

i bought a set of extremes at christmas from firetoys. the plastic threads had no screws in the base, they snapped.

firetoys then sent me a set of new threads. these threads were made from seamingly different plastic, they where longer and could be tightened with a screw provided. the threads they had for sale [both times i ordered] are these tips.

i lost these sticks and bought a new set of sticks and new set of threads assuming that these where the old sticks with the old threads. i was wrong, there was a new kind of thread in these sticks, different to the old short threads and the replacement threads. these threads are similar to the replacement threads in length and strength, and can still be screwed tighter.

all three kinds of threads [old screw less, replacemnet with screw and new with screw] will fit in a set of extremes. and replacemnet caps fit each kind of thread. and as far as i can tell the second set of sticks i bought where identicle in body to the older ones.

so basically to conclude i have no idea what im using, but i know they havent broken so im happy and ive got some threads worst case cenario.

EDIT:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f36/QUOTH/DSC00064.jpg

from left to right;

old [easy braking] thread, replacement thread, new stick thread
If you see me please feel free to come over and give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

I use red and black circus's, wear to much black and will be at the BJC.

Well, right on time, I have just broken my Extreme sticks for the first time. I have been diaboloing practically all day to try ideas for the collab. vid., and now I've wasted my sticks. And I wanted to film tommorow :( .
I hope the store replaces them...
some people think they are better because they can do something better

Firetoys don't seem to have any handsticks. Might just be my browser playing tricks on me though.

something is wrong with their site. the handsticks are here but as you notice the page is messed up. going to a random page like this one produces the same result.

I'm confused http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/diabolo_handstick.html
It says Babache Xtreme diabolo handsticks - G2
But then it says THESE ARE THE NEW IMPROVED VERSION WITH LONGER AND STRONGER TIPS
So did they put replacement tips on g2s or are they g3s?
Am i missing something?
passer-by: "Where d'you learn that?"
me(casually): "the internet"

I believe the modification to bring the design up to Generation 2 was a different threaded insert into the end of the stick (aluminium I think, not sure).  Generation 3 is a more drastic redesign with a shoulder and a plastic insert inside an aluminium insert.  Tips from Gen1 and Gen2 do not fit Gen3.

They are out and available, but I can't remember where, people have posted in this thread saying they've bought theirs already, and probably knackered up the handles hitting the floor.
