3 Circusses á €34 & teflon hubs á €4 = €114
set of sticks á €15
about 75 meters of string I think, á €12,50 per 25 meter= €37,5
little mods for my Circusses á €5,-

Total: € 171,50

Something like that? And I have been diaboloing for one full year now.

Talking about this made me think. We all spend loads of money on gear (new gear mainly). There must be a cheaper way... And there is!!!
If we order big ammounts from a manufacturer, and then split the costs. Maybe...

But the thing is, it still needs shipping to each of us, or distribution on big conventions only. And.. we should be all intrested in the same product, say like 100 sets of new MB sticks. And someone should handle it all, wich sounds like a pretty big job.

Okay I`m done brainstorming, lets go on wich the conversation.. Hell we all spend way to much money on those manufacturers, and sometimes the products are **** anyway!!

I agree with Arjan, I was already thinking about something like that just for the Netherlands, but world-wide is a great idea offcourse. I am not so into financial stuff, but I am sure somebody here knows a lot about it? It would be cool to outsmart everybody and keep the prices as low as possible :).

that is sick man, for sticks only. I have only bought one pair of sticks a year ago (Henry's Alu, the longer ones). These broke and I got MB Classic from the store. I fixed my Henry's and then I had 2 pair of sticks. Now I am back to one pair again, because obviously my MB sticks broke while practising geno's.

£83.36 is what I paid for all of my diabolo equipment.  £139.10 is what I'd have to insure it for.  That would have been more if I had decided to buy the extra Circus and hubs and lights and everything, but the order fell through.  And about £13 in making my own sticks.

About the "wholesale" order idea, it's not bad.  Generally when you order from places in large enough quantities, you can get a good discount (up to 50%).  As a juggling society at University, we bunch together and buy all of our gear from Butterfingers.  However their changing of hands has made it less beneficial for us.  I don't know for other vendors, but most in the UK like people to be either a verifiable shop to resell their products or a club or society they can confirm.  There are a few that give you a discount just if you order enough though.

It's a nice idea, but would have to be very organised by one person to store all of the gear and redistribute it to people.  And we'd have to trust that person with the money and equipment.  It'd be alot of work to repack everything and post it off for no personal gain.  And international shipping is never cheap.  Frank's idea of doing a Netherlands one isn't bad as it's not international and if enough people got together, you could save some money.  Check out vendors as opposed to manufacturers as the extra choice probably outweighs the slightly extra cost.

As for these rather startling amounts of money people are posting, does anyone actually insure their equipment?  Thinking back to when Matt Hall lost his kit bag, that's alot of kit to lose.  Does anyone think to cover their equipment?  Especially as it does go outside and although their only "toys" and cheap individually, loosing a whole bag looks like it could cost some of you folk.
