2006 Guy Heathcote Jack-o-lantern contest
« on: October 31, 2006, 01:08:20 am »
Many thanks to all who entered!
We had 57 entries this year! Almost a record!

Our judge said it was really tough, especially since there were several surprisingly photorealistic pumpkin portraits of Guy. (including Matt Hall's entry. Man, Matt can really carve!)

However, the judge decided to give the prize to former ELO drummer Bev Bevan who carved a more traditional jack-o-lantern. Thehad this to say: "while not  an accurate portrait, this pumpkin actually looks like Guy would look if he was a jack-o-lantern. Very lovable."

Here's a picture of Bevan's winning pumpkin:

Thanks again to eveyone who entered!

Ooh, very life-like. Complete with a charismatic fly on the left cheek. But it's only October 30th! I was going to have my entry ready for the 31st.

Oh well - there's always next year. :)

In the true tradition of diabolo.ca (hey!), I was relying on having a few extra weeks to get mine in, here it is anyway

No Yoyo moustache grind? That would add to the realism.
