try much shorter string! you can adjust the tilt of the diabolo with the left string, the string should rub on the far cup and bring it up to vertax.

definately shorter string ;)
good luck!

it looks to me like you are just whipping up and down, try to slowly tilt your whipping so that you are whipping horizontally and also be a lot smoother! not only will it make vertax a lot easier but it will lengthen your string life!

i think you should keep your right hand further away form your body, and try to ''lock'' you left arm (more). In the vid i see your left arm is going up and down quite a lot

All these guys have good hints. So listen to 'em.

This might sound a bit far-fetched, but my carbon's just arrived, and i went out and tried vertaxin' and got it going for ages.
Anyway, my theory is it could involve your handsticks/string. (Just a suggestion.)

Well i use still wooden sticks and i don't have any problems on doing vertax.
So it's mostly about practice, although it might be little easier with some equipment.
But when you learn it, you can do it with almost everything.

Yeah lol. Something like that. I was using wooden's with some string I bought at the local hardware store. Was 2.5mm thick -.-'
Take that away and replace it with normal stuff and tricks become much easier :P
