Some of the more recent pages will likely contain some insight (i.e.: pages 28-31, as a guess).  So, even if you're slow loading, you don't have to load very many pages.

You could also copy and paste the good comments to a word file so you don't have to rely on having internet access whenever you're stuck.

And rather than using the internet, spend all that surfing time practicing.  That's what 3d comes down to!

An advice to people learning this: When I was learning 3d and didn't know what I wanted to go with (sync, async, wrap start, hover, etc), I varied it. I tried out the different stuff and whenever i found something that worked i stuck with it. Async has felt natural for me all the way but it didnt work. Sync felt unnatural but actually worked. The day i learnt it, i was getting mad because nothing would work out, thought about that i had to vary my tries if something didnt work out, and thought about lowering my hands. suddenly i could get my opening and run 3d for 30 otts solid just by lowering my hands.

So for you guys getting frustrated about days where nothing works at all... try variating your tries :D
Sorry for my english if somebody cant understand. hope it helps

hey guys, crawling back to the depths of this thread to get some help.

whenever i unwrap, the shuffle is really small, resulting in a really uncontrollable/very flat and fast shuffle attempt with a flailing left hand. any tips to help my unwrap make the shuffle higher, slower, and more controllable?

i made a little video with 2 3d low attempts. i can hold the shuffle for about 20 otts pretty often now, but my shuffle looks pretty weird.
i think its because i unwrap a little bit too late, so that one of the two diabolos which are going in the circle when i am doing the wrap hover, doesnt really jump very high. it just falls in the string and it stays in small circles for the whole shuffle. but i am not sure about that, is this really what i am doing wrong, or is it somehting else?

anyways, here is the vid.

i can already say, thanks for the help.

My shuffle used to look like that, only a bit bigger. It is probably because you are used to the movements with 2 diabolos, so when you go to 3 you have found a pattern that allows you to not need to change your movements too much. Work on that opening, it might be a little late. Also try a bit of a pop from there too so the shuffle is bigger. Try doing a motion that Will calls 'tea-cupping', because it is a bit like pouring a  cup of tea, only faster. This is what helped me learn 3 from there, so hope for the same for you.
Serious question Sean: COLLAB? If the call for submissions doesn't come, my tricks are going to the MJC Collab. Really.

Hello all, I just went thru all...well i guess its like 33 pages until here, but yeah.  I've waded through that gigantic pool of info and I think the biggest thing was all about the left hand;lifting up with it i think.  After trying 3low for a while and going back thru all this info, I'm just wondering...
Is it lifting by using the WRIST of the left hand?  I noticed that when I first started and a few months after i started I was trying to use my whole arm to lift with the left hand.  and recently I've been able to hold maybe 4-6ott on average and i realized that i was using my wrist more instead of my whole arm.
Since realizing this I've been able to get a more relaxed and better unwrap in general and i feel my shuffle is improving because I'm mentally focusing on "using the wrist to lift" instead of "lifting with my left"...So is it lifting by using the wrist of the left hand? Or is this more of a personal/mental thing that varies from person to person? or do i sound completely stupid here...haha

for me its easier to use my whole arm, but imo everyone has a different style to shuffle 3d. some guys do it with their wrists some with their whole arm. imo u should do what works best for you ;).

I am starting to get some consistant otts with 3d, and I'm having a bit of trouble here.
I have gotten up to about 12 otts at couple of times today, and usually get 3 to 9 otts.
But my shuffle is really small, and way too fast.
It seems to me that it is a synch shuffle, but i want an asynch so bad.
So what should i do, to get a slower and larger shuffle?

Oh, and btw, can`t get a video, sorry for that :P

Push (with right)/lift (with left) stronger and move a-sync?
