1D Grind with a Twist
« on: February 19, 2005, 02:44:15 pm »
Hi,

I'm trying to nail this particular grind but I am having trouble getting it sussed. It's the one where the starting move is to grind it behind your back and then continue the motion all the way through a 360o body turn.

There's a point where the the wrist needs to "break", or else there would be a real break of the painful variety. Its at this point that I usually lose it.

Is the right technique to give the Diabolo a little bit of air so that the "break" can be a carried out without affecting the diabolo?

Any links to videos showing this would be  much appreciated.

Here it is, managed to do a sketchy one.

http://www.jugglethis.net/filemgmt/visit.php?lid=57

With the sound on a double clunk can be heard at the point where the wrist breaks and the diabolo hops off the sticks.

Q1 Do I want to avoid this hopping up?
Q2 Is there a way to avoid this?
Q3 Is this the trick on Diabology, (my copy is currently lent out :( )

Any thoughts gratefully received!

ouch, that is hard, yes I think at the point where your wrist is locked, pop it up a little bit. You pretty much can do it, you`ll be fine.

Another tip: never ever lean out your copy of Diabology!  :D
