What d'ya think of my Axle, i made it myself ^_^
« on: February 11, 2008, 08:17:23 pm »
a whole hard hours work of my life to create this prototype axle, as you can see the computer lathe cut it slightly wrong, but my god, it can grind :P

any comments, please do
and any tips of how i could improve it, or how to create a bearing/ratchet axle, it would be much appreciated.
 :) :) :) :) :P :P ;D ;D

Its all about messing around making your own prototypes. Do you find the diabolo is unstable with an axle that wide?

Hmm, I wonder the same thing as Sambo, it seems like it might be a tad unstable with such a huge axle.
How long is it, exactly?

good stuff kayne! I like it when people make up odd experiments like that. You could grind that thing with 2 fingers!

try making a curved axle. make sure it's slightly narrower than this one, like 1.5cm or so.

i will admit, this one did go wrong, which is why i called it a prototype, it is unstable, but is still great, it is 21mm wide!!!

i am going to try and shape it more when the Lathe is fixed at school.

:O That's a huge axle, but pretty cool for a selfmade one!
You should make a record long axle just for laughs XD, I know I'd be laughing if you used one onstage :P

By all means, use your nose or tongue.
Do you have more than one? Shall I dare mention a bearing. Teeth/Mouth grind, anyone?
