from ashes rises a phoenix (made a diabolo from broken parts)
« on: September 07, 2007, 02:45:35 am »
Ok well I broke my new spinabolo and used parts from my old one to repair it, well I did and had a bunch of parts left over (mostly broken in one way shape or form) so I used them to make another working diabolo... a black comet, I say that because for a 4 inch diabolo it spins ****ing fast, it could be my imagination but I think it may spin faster then a finesse lol anyways I don't have any complaints about it... at all yet....

PICS!

Well done. Man, that is one haggard diabolo. I would not want that to hit my arm.

so what parts did you change?

Changed or Removed:
- Hubs, one is stripped, and one is broken, the stripped one is from my other one
- Axle (changed from other one), one side is slightly stripped out
- Washers, I took them out and put them on the other one

Worn out parts:
- Cups obviously
- Bearing, lost it's finish and doesn't lock anymore, but since this has been converted to fixed it doesn't matter

It doesn't bind up very much, and I like that ha ha, I tried it in vertax, the only problem is it speeds up so much it gets hard to control, unless I was just tired...

why dont you practice on like grass. it wouldn't scratch up your cups or wear out the diabolo as fast.   :P

Because this is an old diabolo of mine, which I tore up, before I bought my finesse and I don't really care it's just a $25 (i think) 4in spinabolo, I used it when I was learning lol, and concrete is my best friend >_> it doesn't make my feet itch or get wet like grass does...
