Vicars and tarts? On second thought, there'd be few tarts and a load of vicars. I think it'd be hard to please everyone with a theme to be honest.

LOL

NO you can't, if there's 100 people who are asked if they love or hate cake and half (50) hate cake (example), half (50) love cake, the third half who are indifferent (50) brings the total to 150 people. How can you have 150 people when originally only 100 people where asked whether they loved or hated cake. In other words you can't have three halves WITHIN a given number.

I think a theme like "presentation over content" would take the emphasis off more complicated tricks and really open up the floor to new ideas from every corner of the discipline. This theme partially overlaps the location idea but with room for people to find there own way of making their contribution distinct.

On a different level. 16:9 would be an excellent theme in my opinion.

Maybe a sense of humour could help to understand how there can be three halves.

Maybe not.

Epic locations, definitely, and include NAME - LOCATION like Eric Moffett San Antonio, TX, USA but ofc if someone doesn't want their name or something on there you would withhold it with the presentation over the trick would be good for the epic location. a big video of very well done tricks, not saying creativity is bad ;), in really cool locations, famous, weird, historical, funny, whatever seems to do this video good justice to me.

What´s 16:9?

The aspect ratio in which the video could, or-in my opinion-should, be presented.

I'm also a big fan of the locations idea. There's always something significant in your town/area to film around (and isn't your backyard or bedroom). I'm also a fan of presentation taking precedence.

I think Nev's clips (they happen to spring to mind) from the 2006 video were a great example of this (when he wasn't in his garden throwing diabolos at his clothesline :)) - just random, great looking shots of Manchester while doing something cool. Imagine an entire video with this kind of idea. EDIT: also, Tempei's clips were great as well in the 2006 video.

I do think we should also remember that some people won't have this option. Sometimes the best clip you'll get is in a gym.

FURTHER EDIT: I also agree with Garner - I don't think there's any problem with changing the theme of innovation that's been the focus of the last two, so perhaps adding location and presentation will just make it that much better.

Location idea is good. I think originality is going to come even if it's not the set theme this year. I think interacting with the locations would be good to. For example, instead of just standing infront of a building/statue, stand on top of it, throw diabolos through the windows etc.
Moffet's idea of the place names is good too.
