hot glue works best if you have some, because it dries the fastest

WAIT!

You need to be very sure you want to use a fast drying glue, if you slide the grip on too slowly the glue might dry with the grip in the wrong place, and trying to pull a foam grip off a well glued stick can tear the grip apart.

I recommend something called Epoxy Resin Binary Glue.
What it is, is a glue that comes in 2 parts. These parts on their own are not (very) adhesive, but when you mix the two together you get a super-glue strength adhesive that dries in a few hours, but is very reliable and has the same applications as hot glue.

This glue takes about 6 hours to reach maximum grip, but the sticks can still be used 1-2 hours after application with a bit of wiggle.

If you really value your equipment, go down to a hobby store, electronics store or tools warehouse to find this kind of glue. Just look for "Epoxy Resin" or "Binary Epoxy Resin". You can get the glue in a form where you don't need to mix the two parts, but it isn't as good in my experience.

Please take this into account, the difference in performance is very significant between glues!

yes sorry i forgot to mention that, once the foam grip hits the glue it should completely dry in about 3-5 seconds, Aaron Z's kind sounds the best, but if you cant find it, just make sure to slide the grip on fast!

Hairspray is surprisingly useful.  Spray it on the stick, slide the grip on quickly and it'll dry pretty quickly too.  Spray Mount or other such aerolised glue will do the same.

The trouble with epoxy resin (or the brand name Araldite) is that it's gloopy messy stuff.  When you slide the grip on, it'll all squidge out and get everywhere.  It'll definitely set solid but be prepared to clean up mess, and clean it up quickly.

Superglue really is not clever in this department.
Seriously, get some epoxy- superglue x 1'000'000, it's also STRONGER than superglue!

Anyways, it's your choice- I value my sticks too much to risk damaging them and having to miss out on diaboloing for a huge chunk of time. If you take all the precautions with superglue, it could turn out alright I guess.

Tell us how it goes.

Use acetone, methylated spirits or turpentine to dissolve excess glue- my dad taught me this when I was about 8 and found out the superglue I used to glue my hand to the floor didn't dissolve with water   ;D

acetone usually works well, but i'm surprised you can't get it off.

Well.. I got it off after a few hours under hot water and continious scrubbing...

And the super glue has a diss-advantage because when it sets in... Its like plastic
It can brake...
So what i did was a infinite suicide (Super glued grip orbiting) just to check...
And the grip flew off and now its lost  :'(

What's that I hear?

"Epoxy resin is like super glue x1'000'000", oh yeah!

Seriously, don't waste your time with inadequate adhesives- superglues aren't very applicable against very smooth materials, like the body of a handstick, granted it isn't a wood one.

EPOXY
RESIN

Take the freakin' hint.

Oh come on. I managed to find my flys washer and nut when it was too loose and came apart during spin. And I found it amongst trees and bush :)

Nice. Any other kind words of advice you'd like to hand out today, Myke? Maybe even chip in for a new pair of hand sticks since his effort to recover these ones might suggest he doesn't want another pair/doesn't have enough money for another pair?

I'm pretty sure individual handstick GRIPS can be bought, at least Xtreme silicone grips can be.

It's obviously a better idea to find a replacement grip rather than buy new sticks altogether, so shop around for the grips you need.
Also, what's the shaft diameter of whatever sticks you use in comparison to Xtremes?

Silicone carbons would be pretty cool, albeit fragile.

Well i think this topic is useless because my solution was ditch the other grip and get use to the weight diffrence

And that's exactly what i did

It's quite easyer to do a vertax genocide like that :D
