Where is a reliable place to buy a Chinese Yo-Yo Online?
« on: September 08, 2008, 01:46:53 am »
I am looking for a chinese yoyo, a wooden one at best, I already have a few diabolos but they just don't have the visual, and audible, appeal I am looking for. Does anyone know a good, online, non-ebay, provider?

you might want a plastic one instead of wooden, because the wooden ones that i've tried are horribly unbalanced

diabolomoves.com is Nevs shop, I would love to put the link in properly but I am lacking in computer knowledge of how. If you head for the "vendors" section there are links there, happy shopping!

http://diabolomoves.com is down for a bit as is the mirror http://diabolomoves.net

Wait a bit longer and I'm sure Nev will have them back up.

Olive: just put http:// in front of the link.

Actually both are down for now - my old host turned out to be a fraudulent bunch of thieves (previous customers don't worry - your details are all safe - its just me that's been screwed) - more info to follow when I have positive news.  I'm migrating to a new host at the moment - but it takes time getting everything set up right.
Not sure right now If I'll ever recover the .com (fighting legal issues)

Before then - Pm me

I was gonna say that they might not sell wooden ones anymore, but I still can...just not "They might not sell bamboo ones anymore." because of being a little less ignorant.  But a word of warning though, bloodxorange...it's heavy, unbalanced, fragile, and a potential ima-explode-right-in-yo-fase-if-yo-drop-meh kind of yo-yo.  Beware of splinters.

That's true too.

[Edit]- Ok...I believe you're going for "Kong-Zhu"s then.  Which, of course, is another name for Chinese yo-yo.  Ask for "Chinese yo-yo" in Chinatown, and they'll say they've never heard of it.  Ask for a "Kong-Zhu", however...
If you juggle and you know it, do [insert complex siteswap notation].

Ok, thanks for the tip. I was hoping for a Chinese yo-yo larger in diameter then 5 inches, which the wooden one was, by a little bit, but I will go with the plastic. How much sturdier ARE the plastic ones though? They still look like a hit to the floor would cause a crack or worse. I was leaning towards this model http://www.chinasprout.com/shop/AKA089
