My sticks keep bending and breaking!!!!!
« on: February 14, 2009, 02:28:57 am »
My first pair of real sticks(not the ones that come with the diabolos) lasted for two years but then bent into a really awkward angle making them twist and turn if my grip wasn't too tight. I got carbon fibers from jugglingstore.com, but now the stick BROKE inside the handle! Is this normal? Please tell me if you've had problems if how you solved it; what sticks you got.

Lots of people have these problems, unfortunately. And once a pair of sticks get bent, they'll get bent much more easily. Here's a couple of threads to check out:

Sean gives a general idea of what sticks people use, and Leo gives a brief overview on the pros and cons of each stick.

It isn't strange for carbon fiber sticks to break as they are more fragile than aluminum sticks. Aluminum sticks are also prone to bending, but at least you have the option of trying to bend them back into shape.

If you liked your brief experience with carbon fibers, by all means get another pair (and be very careful with the new pair!). Otherwise, go with Henry's aluminum or Mr. Babasche G3s. Both have their downsides, but at least they're hard to break in half and you can just bend them back into shape.
