Who is still using extremes?
« on: August 24, 2009, 05:57:46 pm »
Just wondering because at conventions it seems like I'm one of the only ones who is still using and loving extremes!

Their were a view at the bjc.. But most of the people went to carbons..
I'm not used to them anymore so I cannot play with carbons.

So who is still using extremes and who let them left behind and went to the carbons?

Yep I use the foam gripped ones normally. I'm with Ben on this one, I think more people use them than carbons. For an obvious reason ;)

I like carbons for 3 and 2, but for suicides I really don't like them.

I wouldn't have thought that carbons were the obvious alternative to xtremes. I go back and forth between Henrys aluminums (with carbon grips now) and MB xtremes (silicone handles) on a daily basis. I'm not sure I'll ever fully decide on one or the other.

I used to use Henrys carbons years ago but they made my wrists hurt. Now I'm hopefully with suicides and carbon sticks, although I'm pretty sure you just have to get used to the weight difference.

I guess I just like the extra swing weight of aluminum sticks.

I should mention that the default G3 xtremes drive me insane with their lip near the tip and their large ends. I still use my first set of xtremes (G1) with homemade aluminum threaded ends. But we've been beating that dead horse for a long time now and hopefully MB is doing something about it.

I also use my extremes g3 and that's exactly the reason why I often use my henrys alu sticks.
With the extremes, it can be a disaster if you have a complicated (magic)knot and you want to release the diabolo. The string simply doesn't come off of the stick.
But none the less, I really like the bright colored handles over all the other handsticks.
