Cleaning my diabolo hubs
« on: December 06, 2009, 05:52:41 pm »
My hubs on my circus got all torn up and have indents, and I want a way to clean those well. I've tried using alcohol, but the effects only last about a day.

I've gotten my circus apart but now I need a cleaner for the hubs. Any suggestions?

I assume you're talking about metal hubs? You'd do very well to replace them with plastic hubs, which are lighter, smoother, and won't get dents that cut up your string. Take a look at the "Axles" section of the gear sticky.

I don't think you're going to get dents out of your metal hubs without some serious filing/sanding/grinding/buffing. But I'd be careful you don't got overboard on that. Really though, I'd start saving for some plastic (often referred to as POM) hubs.
