Identifying G3 and G4
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:03:54 am »
Hey guys..
How can i tell the difference between a G3 and a G4.. I´'m very worried because i have a G3 and my mom got me a new diabolo which i'll see in 2 weeks cause she's on a trip..

I need to know how to differentiate the 2 diabolos.. I did notice G3 has 1 stripe, then 2 and then 3 on the border of the cup, but i haven't seen a G1 or G2 in my life so I can't know.. Please reply fast.

Thanks

Sean

Which of these does it look like?

Left is G4, right is G3.

I finally saw a close up pic of the G4 and noticed it doesn't have any stripes on it like the G3 does, but can anyone confirm this?

what do you mean?? I mean that the border of the cup, the border that allows you to put your foot in it has q, then 2 and then 3 stripes on the G3, does the G4 have this?

Go here and click "Add an item to the album". Then copy the BBC embed code at the bottom and paste in a post.

OK, here's what I meant..

EDIT: my mom sent me a pic.. and i think it's a G4... does this mean i wont be able to do 2D with a G3 and a G4? because that's the reason my mom bought me the Finesse.. is there too much of a difference between the two? thanks

Oh, they will be perfect for 2d. No problem mate.

I can see that there's only one thing which makes 2d hard and it's to have over 60grams weight difference on diabolos. Which clearly isn't the case here. I'm sure you won't even feel the difference at first. Don't worry, the diabolos will play like they are supposed to.  And they deserve to be used. ;)

Hey Marko :)

Thanks for the reply :) but after seeing this pic here: http://www.ofekshilton.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dsc_0174ofekshiltoncom.jpg

And then comparing the one of my pink Diabolo, I think it's a G3.. This is why

If you see the G3 in the pic (right side) on the end of the cup it's got a wavy design (kinda) but on the G4 the end of the cup is just curved, what i mean is that the G3 curves from the axle, and it curves again nearly at the end of the cup while the G4 only curves at the axle and that's it

Maybe the angle the diabolo is held in the pic makes it look like it´s only curved near the end of the cup (like the G3, it too curves at the end of the cup) while the G4 doesn't

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Really? I've look at the pics a long time, look at Ofek's pic of the G3 and look at the end of the cup it's curved to the outside, and the G4 isn't it's just following the curve instead of curving AGAIN

It was a G3! You know? Pink and blue diabolos look good with 1 pink and 1 blue cup each hahaha :)
