Why at the age of 26 the young Herr Flick invented the string climb. After months of unparalleled popularity its respect declined amongst the "in crowd" of the day (long before diabolo.ca or even the Internet I might add). Mr. Flick, exceedingly embarrassed to be associated with such a trick, faded into the background never to be heard of again in the diabolo community. However, word of Mr. Flick's association with the reviled trick continued to spread amongst diaboloists of the day. In his honour (and still feeling badly for the poor chap nearly a decade later) another old-school diaboloist from the UK named an intriguing 2 diabolo move he had discovered after Mr. Flick. He taught it to convention goers under one stipulation: one must forget all association of poor Herr Flick with the maligned string climb. He was to henceforth be identified with the great Herr Flick 2 diabolo trick.
[1] Unfortunately it never caught on like the new school tricks such as "the hyperloop" or tricks with catchy names such as "the genocide". But it's still a great trick to have up your sleeve. There. The more you know.
