Beginner's Question - Diabolo as a gift
« on: April 03, 2005, 07:20:05 pm »
Hey,
I bought a diabolo for my mates bday, she can do high tossing and few tricks already but thats it.
I didnt know what diabolo to get her, so i bought her the henry's circus diabolo, is that ok?
When it came in the post it looked rather large, is that good or bad?

Great present to give your mate! :)

I'm only a relative beginner myself and find, with the exception of the MB Finesse, that a larger diabolo is easier to learn tricks with in the first place so I shouldn't worry too much about it :)

A Henrys Circus is a great diabolo. Maybe it looks big, but this is about the standard good diabolo-size :) Just like the MB finesse. Those 2 are the most used diabolos. Have a look in the Equipment sticky too.

oh thank god! I feel so much better now, i really hope she likes it! THANKYOU!
I tried playing with it....and failed miserably! and i dont want to ruin it before i give it to her, so im thinking ill wait till i give it to her and then she can teach me!
It's the glow in the dark one too....she better appreciate it! I spent ages looking through millions of types and got so confused!

Yeh, I have to say diabolo has changed my life too! I didn't know whether to stay on at school or to leave and get a job. After learning diabolo, I was offered a job in Bluewater performing diabolo and I have been asked to perform at loads of parties too! Wehey!

Wow, I love cheese too.  And a whole encyclopaedia on it too.  I reiterate "Blimey!"
And a Moonbeam Circus is a definate top present.  The sort that will last a person forever, possibly even inheritable.  So yeah, feel proud for a good buy and hope she likes it.

Cheese - how awesome is that.
