Hello everyone!

Name: Lauren
Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, US
Age: 17

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?
One year exactly as of today.

2. What or who got you started?
Seeing the girls in Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba got me hooked.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
I love performing for others. Most people around here have never seen a diabolo, so I enjoy getting to show off a little bit. I also love it when I get a trick I've been working on for a long time. I feel so satisfied.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average?
Typically I practice for two hours a day, most days of the week.

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo?
Yes, but they're mostly spontaneous performances when I'm with friends or hanging out at school. I'm working on a routine for the school talent show, though.

6. Do you juggle other props? If so: balls, clubs, rings, cigar boxes, devil sticks... ?
I've tried poi, but I really only juggle diabolos.

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
My favorite diabolo is my Sundia Fly, though I also like traditional Chinese yo-yos. I use a pair of sticks I got with a cheaper Yoho light up diabolo that I got from the toy store. As for string, it's Henry's white all the way.

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
One. I've tried 2d before, but I just like most 1d tricks much better for some reason.

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
Definitely the walking pirouette. It's so much fun and it's a real crowd pleaser.

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done?
I can't think of a specific trick, though I do remember seeing someone do 2d vertax, which was awesome in my opinion.

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
I'm currently creating and practicing a routine for a talent show. The hardest part is getting the tumbling tricks I want to do (back handspring, front tuck, etc.)

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you?
Other than the Cirque girls, I can't think of any specific names. Just watching others perform is enough to inspire me to practice and learn new tricks.
