How is this done? (Minigenocide stuff?)

I was just wondering how this particular trick is done, in this video:

It's around 0:44, when the string wraps around his right hand/fingers. What wrap does that lead into? Because when he starts the continuous minigenocides (correct me if my terminology is off) after that, he'd have to have the string coming from the left side of the diabolo BEHIND of the string coming from the right side... right? (with the sticks in opposite hands). But every time I try that entry, with the strings wrapping around my fingers, I always end up with the string coming from the left side of the diabolo IN FRONT of the string coming from the right. So either I'm doing it wrong, or there's a way to do those continuous minigenocides with a... left backwrap, is it called? Sorry if that was a confusing explanation, I'm not sure how to say it  =/

that start is known as the tomicide, or for the more new school people, simply "the integral". You're right, it does lead into a "left backwrap" which means the suiciding stick needs to pass behind the right segment of string to continue suiciding without forming a knot. Continuous minigenocides can be done with a left backwrapping/ right frontwrapping, you just need to be careful to make sure that the stick that continues the suicide passes behind. What seems to be happening with you is that the angle of the suiciding stick is too far forward in relation to you, when it needs to be backwards. It is also worth noting that William goes from the 'backwrap' suicide to a 'frontwrap' suicide (so that the suiciding stick can pass in front, which is generally easier) by using that minigenocide variation, where he grabs the string with his right hand and rewraps the diabolo with the left stick.

I hate to bother, but I have another question for anyone who can answer. How do you those continuous minigenocides that William does after the integral start? From a cold start? Assuming that you will be using the "frontwrap" suicides. I thought I understood how to do it, but I haven't had much success.

Hi, ah, I still can't figure out how to do that trick immediately following the integral, at about 0:45. I haven't been able to find a clear explanation of how it's done on the Internet, so I'd really appreciate some help with this  =/

Okay I've got the general idea... but every time I release the stick, when it suicides, it wraps the string around the diabolo more instead of unwrapping it. I can't figure out how to fix this, help please?

I am not sure if this is what is happening for you, but I think your releasing the stick on the wrong side of the string. When you let go of the stick you need to make sure you are undoing whatever wrap you had on the axle.

If you have a left backwrap on the axle, then the stick has to pass on the inside of the string (between you and the string)

If you have a right backwrap, then the stick has to pass on the outside of the string.


If you look at Tim Ellis' tutorial on continuous mini genocides, he explains how to make sure you undo the correct wrap.
