Finesse vs. Sun

Should I get a finesse or a sun? I will be using them for 2D and need to know which is better.
Thanks,
Mike

Neither of them are "better." They both are good for learning 1d 2d 3d 4d 5d etc...

Finesse is made out of rubber and sun is made out of plastic. They both will be good for any amount of diabolos. Everyone has their own preference, but no matter which you pick you will be happy. If you have a local juggling club with diaboloists, you could ask if you could try out their diabolo and see how it feels to you. If you can't find any diaboloists with a finesse or sun, just use your best judgement.

Good Luck,
Eric

Sorry, I know neither is best, but I just wanted good reasons why one or the other worked better for someone.

Oh ok. Well, I haven't tried either (I use taibolos), but from what I've read, finesse can have different axle kits which can be useful in different circumstances, like if you want a wider axle or a bearing. Sundia suns don't have axle kits but are heavier which will keep 2d slightly more stable.

I'm sure other people on this forum who have actually used suns or finesses can help more though.

Any of them is good. The biggest issue with suns is that the axle is very wide. So in my opinion you need to decide if you prefer wider axle or not. You can play with circus-twist, or with finesse Evo 2 to see how you feel.

You won't regret any decision, there are great diabolo players using any kind of diabolo...

finesse cups are much grippier than the suns, so learning to correct 2 diabolos might be easier with suns since you're less likely to overcorrect. suns also come with a wider axle without tuning kits, so it's likely to be cheaper off the bat.

it's up to you as far as what you buy, but i would recommend suns.

I'll also use them for 1D, so I'm not sure.

Yea it's all about less grippier cups. I don't get why Finesse is so popular, I just hate playing if because of the cups. Still Finesse is them most popular diabolo around.  You should check this out: http://diabolo.ca/forum/index.php?topic=5949.0

Sean if you're reading this. I think it's about time to do another poll. I would love to see which is more popular these days. ;)

A poll would be cool. As for grip on the cups I disagree I have used finesse for the last 2 years or so n never had a problem but that could just be because I have only used finesse and a
I am used to it now. I have had a go with triabolos but did not like the plastic cups. It's all about what u like to use

I have tried suns, but not finesses, so I might go with suns.

Its fantastic for grinds and spins a lot longer than my yohos. I only have one at the time, but with one yoho it's good for 2d. It's the sundia new style from jugglingstore.com. It's also called the sun, right?
This is it.

Looks like the Sundia Sun transparent version which is 255grams. They are good, I have couple of those as well.  I still prefer my Circuses but Suns are good stuff.

Metalwashers vs plastic maybe...but also thought it was the normal sun at 290 and these at 255?

Edit: ah so there's apparently see-through versions of both types.

Im suspecting that they dont really sell many of the standard color sundias anymore. But you can have metal washers thats 290, plastic or carbon thats 270 and these newer suns thats 255
