meh..... it's tipping, i think its lopsided. cause when i hold it (not spinning) on the string, it tilts. and i think its too light to do lots of tricks with, it doesnt keep spinning when i stop....

find the most balanced thing you can think off, try balancing it on a piece of string....
A diabolo stays level because of the forces produced when it is spinning, its rare for a diabolo to be unbalanced especially if it comes from a reputable manufacturer.
anyhow
Your best bet is to work on
a) getting the diabolo spinning and accellerating it in several ways.
b) working on simple confidence and touch building things like throws and orbits
c) working your way through the moves on http://diabolotricks.com/
check out also the beginners threads (links to be found in the trick sticky)
good luck.

btw if your trying the trick i'm thinking of (trapeze or stopover) the usual problem is not swinging the diabolo in the correct alignment and/or holding the stick so that there is string hitting the cup (or the diabolo misses the string altogether)

I started out with www.diabolotricks.com and then went on to Diabology.

I recommend starting with suns and magic knots. They are easy to learn and they help you to build up some confidence.

Then when you learn something, write it in the "I Just Learnt To" thread. It feels really good.

Rock On!

I think that the educational section on Diabology is very clear and helpful, especially for beginners.

why not get some Donald Grant books?
I second that. All it took were Donald Grant's books and a touch of Priam's videos to get me from zero to obsessed with this diabolo thing.

Donald's books are great and seem all to often ignored since the "diabolo-internet" took off. I read them all and practiced religiously those tricks I could get and idolized those I couldn't. :)

I use milleniums and I can do 2d, vertax, loop diabolo - you name it. If it doesn't keep spinning when you stop, you haven't got it spinning fast enough,

A diabolo is gyro·scopic  which means basically it will keep its balance as long as t is spinning,(as said before)and try a different speed tech?(as mentoined)

Try Jugglethis.net (http://www.jugglethis.net/). You shouldn't have any difficulty uploading it there.
