Isn't the Henry's factory outlet store in Karlsruhe? Covenient, no?
Title: Re: EJC 2008 - Karlsruhe, Germany
Post by: JC on December 24, 2007, 01:10:49 PM
The store from Henrys is near the castle,
the whole sale is at the edge of the City.
On the other hand Henrys makes on every EJC a juggling store,
so it will be the same in Karlsruhe

Ryanair from London Stansted to Karlsruhe/Baden seems to come to about £67 including taxes.  Tried AirBerlin but it didn't seem to scan, perhaps it can't see that far into the future.

Can people find any cheaper flights?

It is worth checking from day to day, as the prices will vary from time to time - also the closer the flight if there are lots of places left it will get cheaper.
Flying on different days of the week will affect the price also, for example the cheapest Stansted to Karlsruhe/Baden an the 1st of August today was £15, but flying the day defore it's only £4.79!!

What won't change is the taxes which will be the constant part about £35 for the return trip.

Flying out on the 31st of July and back on the 12th of August you can grt the price down to a little over £45.

Also bear in mind that August is the School holidays, and prices are likely to go up the closer you get as availability decreases.

Seems quite cheap IMO, the whole 8 days could only cost about £250, including spending money.

Me 'n' Matt will be going. seems like it will be a great week!

Post by: Chiok on December 27, 2007, 12:00:05 PM
Well, life is cheaper when you still live with your family :-P  £250 is just too large a punt for me at the time I'll have little money or security.

I'm just trying to cut all corners possible you see.  I thought taxes were a certain "percentage" of the flight price, I've seen it fluctuate I think.  But I will investigate more.

A few months ago a new airline set up to Germany that had silly cheap flights, but I'll be rogered if I can remember what they were called...  Apart from RyanAir and AirBerlin, do people know of any other airlines that are flying from the UK to Baden?

just wondering, what is a "black light chillout zone?" ???
Title: Re: EJC 2008 - Karlsruhe, Germany
Post by: Ben. on January 04, 2008, 12:04:43 PM
black light is like ultra violet light, they are cool and make white things glow etc...
i assume that the 'black light chill out zone' is just a place to chill out where there is a cool ultra violet light.

Post by: fzzyrn on January 05, 2008, 05:16:33 AM
i know what a black light is, it makes white stuff pretty.

I guess it just seems kind of fun useless to have an area with black lights just so people can sit around and do nothing.

The other day, I found out that my WHITE thuds (of which I have seven) don't shine in UV! My white sock poi do though — it looks really cool.
If you stare at a UV light with half a ping pong ball over each eye for 2 minutes you'll experience temporary blindness :).

Post by: robbie322 on January 05, 2008, 06:33:45 PM
why would anyone want to 'experience' temporary blindness? diabolo looks sweet in uv light as you cant see the spin at all, looks like a stationary diabolo. therefore stick grinds etc look amazing.

I would! There should be a best trick competition with everybody doing blind tricks. With blind judges of course.  ;)

haha, that would be a great competition.

btw the 'temporary blindness' works with normal lights as well, not just UV

They are out, 15th - 16th, so no clashing :)

The best bit is my birthday is on the sunday, two conventions followed by presents.....yay! (having said that, my main present will probably be money to pay for going to Karlsruhe, but it's totally worth it)

I thought I'd wait til I finished uni, so I can live and travel over there for a year or two.

hello tom

It was really cheap on Ryan air from stanstead, I'm flying to Berlin on the first, making my way though germany with the misses, ending up down in kurshule then flying out of kershul baden on the 10th.

however if their was a camper van full of diaboloists making their way back from germany. I'm sure I could persuade Ruth into some roadtrip action

Or what about...

- All wearing our d.ca t-shirts on a particular day? (I know, I know, some of us don't have one, bad idea)
- Putting a "d.ca meet up" on the workshop board?
- All wearing a white blouse and a red rose, meeting up by a romantic fountain?

That, or just hoping we'll find eachother by talking to random diaboloists.
Besides, a lot of us have met eachother before, so I don't think it'll really be a problem.

.ca t-shirts or sweaters (if the weather happens to be nasty) could help us find each other (though I still think we've probably got a sixth sense for where to look for each other). Could be a good reason for someone to send in a nice design for a new t-shirt so we have something familiar to look for.

Even though I'm not here for the whole convention, I guess I'll throw up updates since no one else seems to be doing so.

Day two seemed relatively tame - most people seemed to be recovering from long drives/flights/hangovers all morning and afternoon.

Parade was skipped by me and some of the Finland contingent in hopes of finding food: failed at finding food because we didn't have enough time.

The welcome show after the parade is what we were excited about - some of the MHD crew from Taiwan were performing in the final act of the welcome show, so that was a treat to see live.

Probably the show on most people's minds here was the Chapter 2 (http://diabolo.ca/forum/index.php?topic=3316.0) show with mostly improvised acts by the stars. Just a lot of mind-destroying creativity going on with these guys. The final act was a 20 minute performance by Stefan Sing and Marco Paoletti to some really creative music (hopefully someone can describe what it was here, because I can't). They literally mesmerized the audience for nearly 10 just by playing with one ball before moving on to their higher numbers stuff - it was awesome.

Massive mind-blowing passing stuff has slowed down quite a bit - seems tiredness from going all out yesterday is catching up to a lot of people. Nick was very entertaining, however, as it was fun to see someone doing really cool and fun tricks in the non-3 diabolo plus category.

Guess that's all for now.

Another 3am update from Karlsruhe, hope you guys are enjoying this a bit:

I didn't get out to the gym until the afternoon, so I'm sure something fun happened before then.

Afternoon was pretty chilled on my front - mostly because club juggling combat took over nearly 1/3rd of the gym. Combine that with the fact it was raining heavily all morning and most of the afternoon, and put a ton of jugglers looking for ANY space so as to not kill the person next to them, and you start to get cranky at combat people :P
It was, however, still nice to sit and relax for a day.

Had a nice diabolo session with a fairly international crowd (to me) - Mau, Marko, Fredo. Amazingly fun to watch Marko and Mau try out fun little tricks, and fun to watch Fredo try to land some amazingly difficult variations on tricks.

Then some of us went to watch the Thomas Dietz's German All-Stars special stage show - Pranay and Sergey (I doubt I spelled that right, someone correct me later, please!) performed very well in front of a near-purely juggling audience, I'd say. Props to both of them :). My favorite act had to be the drummer who combined a little bit of stick twirling and juggling with some (to me, I'm easily impressed) AMAZING drumming skill. I wish I could describe it better - imagine just a drum set, one drummer, and way too much skill. Again, hopefully someone adds to this after the convention.

Anyway, there's a diabolo.ca meet up in the main-gym that Marko and I seemed to have organized (it was mostly Marko's idea), so I think I should sleep a few hours then try to seem awake tomorrow.

Keep the updates coming! Get photos, get video, have fun at the diabolo.ca meet up, and diabolo hard. :)

Karlsruhe remains the only city I've slept on the street in. :) Nice place though.

Still jealous.

Hello, my dad might be willing to bring me to the EJC. But then I'm all by myself there and I don't have a tent.
Is there somebody who could help me get a sleepingplace? If i can arrange that, then my dad is willing to bring me there.

I hope someone could help me out thanks!

A midnight update! I'm back early because my body is completely exhausted. And bedtime before 6am might be nice.

Diabolo.ca meet-up happened today - it went better than I thought it would, actually. Quite a few people showed up and seemed to mingle, though it still seemed that a lot just stood on their own and practiced and people familiar with each other hung out together. I probably should've tried to get people to mingle a bit better, so I'll say I dropped the ball on that one. It was hopeful though - we took over a good 1/4 of the gym today :)

And I learned something today: for those wishing to do a 3 diabolo endurance battle with Dekel, William Lin and Dixie, you might beat Dekel and Dixie if you're pretty good (I didn't, lasted a fair bit though), but you've got to have some serious finesse with your 3 diabolo pattern to stand a chance against William :P. But I think Dekel is nearly able, or even completely able, to give Jacob a run for his money with a 3 diabolo cascade now.

I skipped the shows tonight to relax and practice in a much more open gym, and ended up spending some time teaching tricks to some people. Actually landed a Tempei-excalibur move, one I hadn't tried since Matt Hall showed me it at the Scottish convention, while trying to give some people some ideas, so that was cool.

Tomorrow is my last day I can go to the gym (gotta head back home and get back to work), so hopefully it'll be filled with some fun stories. It'll be my last update, then we're all pretty much in the dark till people get back.

-Duncan

Thanks Duncan! And call me Ramon =)

Edit: Duncan I am going to Karlsruhe on friday and we will stay there from friday night till saterday night! I will go with my parents and they will stay outside of the event And I will be on the site.

So no need for a sleeping place anymore! Because its a bit of a waste if my dad would drive me there go home and pick me up other day thats 24 hours of driving..

But I still hope you could help me meet Ben =)

Oh Duncan one more thing.. My mother and sister watched the EJC site and they saw that on saterday 9 August the workshops have ended and they are breaking down the site and there are no more shows etc.. So now they are saying its a waste of going to the EJC for just friday night and the whole saterday.. But it isn't right?

My last day here is over *mega-sad*

I tried to get to the gym somewhat early so I could have as much time as possible - it was nice to just chill and try some tricks with all the new people I've met here. Thanks to Sergey (hope I spelled it right, one of the German guys will have to correct me later) for showing me some silly new stuff to try out!

I also have the (dis)pleasure to say that I was raped by Priam when he was chasing after a bounce ball. Nuff said there - it was shocking to me to say the least!

Got to try out Mr. Babashe's Tornado diabolos at the Butterfingers shop - they're tiny little things, but its still possible to run three low with them. Apparently weight kits can be put on them too if you need to boost them from "feather" to "paper" in terms of weight.

Went to the open stage - Matt Hall had a nice cigar box routine (west coast style baby); Vux did quite well with his routine tonight; and Saito was very good on the stage tonight with a very solid routine - the audience went nuts for the multi-swing excalibur genocide, and I think he got a standing ovation from most of the audience. Probably my favorite routine (sorry diabolo guys, he was that awesome) was a show by Matthias Romir (we don't know quite how its spelled; it might be one "t") called Pinball Paranoia - it was a stunning act that people should hope is on the EJC dvd if it eventually gets released. Check him out if you get the chance. Amazing hat (and glasses and ball) manipulation and a great stage character.

We had some diabolo games back in the gym - 2 diabolo combat and 1d excalibur combat. It was fun to just have a great laugh as my final time at the EJC.

So, I'm mega-sad, but I'm happy I met all the new people who took the time to play around and hang out with me, and glad I got to play around with some old friends. I'll do a proper highs and lows when the EJC is properly finished though.

You guys who get to stay the whole time, I hope you guys enjoy the gala show if you have a ticket, and I hope the rest of your time at the convention is a blast.

Great times, guys (and girls): it's been a real joy to hang out with those who spent some time with me,

-Duncan

So I'm sitting right in the gym and mad jugglers yelling for blood take about one third of the practice space again. Well, maybe I'm going to join later - I can still taste the blood from the awesome diabolo combat yesterday night and it still makes me so randy baby.

It's raining outside, so the gym is pretty full. The diabolo corner is rather empty at the moment, I can't spot anybody of my old and new friends (no Duncan around, I'm missing you, sweetheart). Only three lonely fellows seem to be able to pick up some sticks after such an amazing show.

...Wait! Right, I've just returned from the gala show and I must say that this was the most amazing, mindblowing, mesmerizing show I've ever seen in my short, but experienced life (concerning convention gala shows that is). First of all, there was William Wei-Liang Lin. He has changed some parts of his routine since the BJC performance (which you can find on juggling.tv), had only one drop* and was basically freaking out the public during his whole performance. He was the last act, but worth to be mentioned first. In between, there was Tr'espace with two performances with a pianist, diaboloing, climbing and dancing on the piano. The first one had a lot of partner moves in it, with stick exchanges, vertax passing, mixed vertax/regular passing and other things that made the audience freak out and immediately calm down in awe alternatively. The other acts were just as crazy, e.g. Alexander Kulakov, a Russian ring juggler (video on youtube), a trampoline club passing team and a acrobatics couple pulling off some balances at the edge of what a human should be able to do.

I've just recognized Pranay among the colorful crowd of jugglers, he's watching some random guy pulling off (8x,6)(4,6x)* and holding it forever. I'm going to catch him and get some coffee somewhere, maybe watch some renegade (which I haven't done yet) or, as I said join the combat, even though my legs feel heavy and I'm tired. That hasn't hindered me from having a great time with great diaboloists so far.

Stay tuned for more updates tomorrow.

Fredo

*I have to tell you that, he went from a 3d low shuffle directly into a 531 high and then went on shuffling and dropped one after some stage-filling corrections and then couldn't catch one throw, but managed to point on it with a somehow free hand and went on with 2d.

The welcome show after the parade is what we were excited about - some of the MHD crew from Taiwan were performing in the final act of the welcome show, so that was a treat to see live.

Still jealous.

You guys said it all...

And right now, I'm am 98% ready to hijack an airplane, tell it to fly to Karlsruhe RIGHT NOW (yes, while I'm still in my underwear), and stay at the convention until it ends.  I can pay for it later :P

But no, seriously, when I think back to my previous post, it seems you guys ARE multi-billionaires with jets that will fly you to anywhere at the click of a finger.  Seeing you guys have this much fun makes me motivated to finish my resume pronto and get a job fast...even if I'll be swamped with Grade 12 and various activities.

And then, last but not least, thanks to all of you who have posted you experiences in the EJC.  I'm DEFINITELY hoping to learn all I can about the EJC and plan a proper itinerary for the next EJC.

*For the MHD and William Lin quotes, there's a reason for this:  I spoke to Angela, who is a higher-up associated with MHD, and she said that this summer they were going to Europe...THE WHOLE CREW.  No wonder you guys would see him there!*

Not so much news to tell you today. People still juggle and play diabolo.

Priam did two workshops on variations of infinite suicides and high siteswaps. One of the few opportunities to see almost all of us diaboloists together and to actually recognize how few we are ;). The workshop itself was quite good, but there wasn't really much new information for advanced diaboloists, so I kept only one eye at the workshop and tried to follow a diabolo circulating around my body with theother one. I get closer to actually get through my new body combo without stopping nor dropping. Ideas keep coming while you exchange tricks, ideas and diabolos with a lot of nice people and there's always something you haven't seen before going on somewhere in the gym.

Dekel has got the cascade down pretty solid and can do something that appears to be 531 - it's crrrazy! Martijn, Ben., some other guys whose forum names I don't know and I had a lot of fun today and did some trick jamming and tried out some new things. Ben. and I even got to film a trick for the collaboration video.

I spent a lot of time juggling, too, so I can't give detailed information on what other great diabolists have been doing today.

There was another free swimming party at the Europabad tonight, basically a lot of water, fun and Ben. walking around with his shorts hanging down at the back of his knees. Definitely one highlight today.

It is exactly five oclock in the morning and i feel i should post something about what has been going on here.

You can walk into the hall and any time and find diaboloers and familiar faces, even here now. During the days we seem to congregate at one end of the hall and essentially jam. There has been some mind blowing creativity going on here, especially from the German represents (Fredo, Pranay etc.) and it has been cool to see the likes of Mau and Busk showing off some skills as well.

As far as learning goes, i seem to be in a mode of creativity that i have never really experienced before, trying things i never considered as options within diabolo... probably that convention vibe. Its been great catching up with some of the British lot that i havnt seen for a while, aswell as meeting new people from all around the world and sharing skills and ideas.

Anyway, people are getting impatient, i shall try to update you soon.

That was probably the best 8 days ever.

The site was incredible. The Europahalle while being massive was a fraction of the whole space. There were 2 big tops, a party/bar tent, traders village, lake, medieval village, youth circus, uv tent, fire beach, and a extremely annoying hill.

The big tops were great. I never went into the big top at the hill but I caught 1 and a half open stages at the big top at the lake where I saw some incredible body combo knot things that I didn't even understand from a diabolist I cannot remember the name of, 3 club juggling while using the clubs to drum on a massive red box, pinball paranoia, and a great show from Vux, aswell as loads of other amazing stuff I can't remember at the moment.

Was great to meet people again and to see so many new faces.

The Gala show was outstanding. There was a truely spectacular performance from Trespace, trampolineing club passing cavemen, the best non juggling act possible at a juggling convention, incredible acrobalance, Wes, and loads of other mind blowing act I have can't think of right now, but nearly every act got a standing ovation.

I reckon the food is worth a mention! Plate of meat and ribs and sausage at the medieval village was always fun. Crepes at 4 in the morining and everyone loved the keb(r)aps!

Most nights (mornings) seemed to be spent lying on the floor doing contact or cats cradle in the uv tent after a long session in the gym.

The Games were good fun on the saturday with Matt winning the 2d gladiators and the guy who was forced by Luke Burrage to get naked infront of everyone during club balance endurance. Sadly I did not win the hoping gladiators :(

The big toss up was brilliant and I managed to get a really great picture of it which il put in the gallery, but you better apreciate it becasue I thought I'd die taking it as I decided, with many others, to climb onto a 2 level glass roofed building which with the weigth of eveyone was creaking. Even a few of the organsiers came out looking worried telling people to get off quickly. People didn't and everyone lived though it was still not one of my best ideas.

The rest of that night was spent patying it up in the bar/party tent to an amazing reggae band and good DJ set with Nick, Matt, Busk Mau, Ben, Robbie, and other people I can't think of currently. It was so good Moon even got naked.

It was the biggest convnetion in the world so far with roughly 5300 jugglers there.

I will be uploading loads of pictures up onto Facebook soon.

EDIT: I forgot to mention Fini's trousers falling down during vertax gladiators :D

i have got to have my say in this!
That was probably the best 8 days ever.

GOOD POINTS...
Alex and I going to the hall at 5am and taking part in what has to have been the coolest game ever. one 8ft bouncing ball. about 7 people on each team. and a massive empty hall. it was like rugby on crack, as matt hall would say. alex got completely owned by the ball but we did score one point in the end!
learning 3 Low AGAIN, after i forgot how to do it.
having 8+ kebraps which were the nicest thing ever.
meeting anyone who's anyone from the forum including Marko, Aaro, Pranay, m4u, Busk, Martijn, Malte, Flo and Fredo who is SO CRAZZZY!
having our own 2d gladiators where blood WAS shed, and alex kneed me in the balls.
hitting the UV tent at 3am every night and sean's multi ball contact keeping us amused for hours.
THE SWIMMING. Who else went when it was free? because if you did then you will know what i mean. it was anarchy, with 2000 jugglers messing about in an amazing pool and going down the water slide to find a massive pile up half way down and then getting to the bottom and walking back up again with legs up on the side so when people went under they almost hit your balls. not to mention the mexican waves in the queue for the slide.
Nick teaching me lots of yoyo stuff.
The metal slide and climbing frame on the site which me and alex climbed and completely freaked out due to how high it was.
JOHANNES!

BAD POINTS
missing the gala show because they ran out of tickets.
not seeing fini's trousers fall down.
missing almost every workshop i had planned to do because i was just in the hall having too much fun.

The amazing thing about the EJC was that it managed to have convention, in the hall juggling aspects and also have the outside in the field , festivaly type aspects and it had them in perfect balance which was why it was undoubtedly the best convention EVER!

Ben.

JESUS CHRIST. that had to be the greatest how ever many days of my life... i kinda lost track of time after not sleeping for the last few days.

JOHANNES!

i think that the meat plate needs a special mention, which concisted of ham... stuffed ham... ribs froma pig... pork sausafe and pork burger... yummy! this mixed with kebrrraaps made eating a great park of the convention.

so yeah, good points.

meeting all the diaboloists that i would be unlikely to meet in any other circumstance ben has listed most of them i think.

the gala show... trespace especially.

YMCA

UV tent at 4 in the morning with sean learning multiball contact, smoking and drinking

Creps!

chi, jugglers brew, export, lemon stuff, kaluha, geltwasser, tea, powerade, apple stuff, and a hole host of other liquid based consumants.

all of the quotes and in jokes that have come out of it, i cried with laughter several times.

vux's performance.

the last nights rave/gig int he party tent... awesome stuff.

journey.

speding time with ben, alex, nick, robbie, andy, andy, pete and others.

fini's trouser incident

seeing moon naked, waving his pants in the air

winning 2d gladiators.

Bad points.

smashing my foot in tripping up the stairs then having Duncan stamp on it in 2d gladiators

some major string burn

not going swimming when it was free

missing all the workshops and the one that i did go to (cigarette tricks) not being on :(

other than that... was one amazing week, anyone who didnt go, you really missed out. thanks to everyone who went and made it an amazing convention.

So very tired today. Sat at work and everything is slightly blurry around the edges.
Such a good week. Most of the great stuff has already been covered, but I'll throw in some other highlights. In no particular order:

- Our little UK contingent. A great crew of people, but I did feel that the UK diabolo community was a little under-represented for such a large convention.
- Matt Hall! Such a great compere at juggling shows and the man knows how to run a quality workshop.
- Airport security at Karlsruhe-Baden. Pulled out of line by a stern faced security guard. "Is this your bag? Open it." At this point I'm getting pretty nervous and dreading the rubber glove treatment. The guard reaches in and pulls out the juggling stuff. "You must show us some tricks now." It seems they were pulling this move on every juggler going through the check point and had been enjoying a free show all afternoon.
- Guest appearance by Baghead in the main show!
- Being serenaded with a Southern Comfort-fueled rendition of "Hotel California", complete with extended outro.
- Getting to see Tre'space's spintop inspired act. Such an amazing, inventive performance. My favourite part of a show full of superb acts.
- Ceri-Anne's sliding stick tricks. Awesome stuff and a great Funtycopter variation. Sadly, I didn't see the Dutch diaboloists as much as I wanted to.
- Free swimming. From acrobat kids trying silly flips to the huge mess of people throwing themselves down the water slide, this was a crazy night. Swimming pool at the BJC, please.
- Finding out that I actually enjoy integrals. Now I just need a bigger practice space.

My third EJC and certainly the best one yet. Props to the organisers for putting on a fantastic convention. High-Fives to everyone who helped make it so enjoyable.

Nick.

I already went home on Saturday, so I missed the last day but still had a great week! On a dutch forum they started a HLGCBS of the EJC, so I'm gonna post mine here aswell:

High
The great wheather, the diabolo.ca meet-up: great to meet people I hadn't seen for a while and of course to meet new people (though I would've wanted to mingle more, like Duncan intended, but that just didn't happen), the gala show.

Low
The convention was so big, I sometimes lost people for a couple of days. And I got the feeling I missed things.

Goal
Getting some diabolo inspiration and having fun with friends: check.

Crush
Tr'espace!! (long lost love, but the flame's burning again)

Bane
It was way too crowded and warm in the hall, so I didn't practice as much as I wanted to.

Surprise
Chloë, a french girl I'd never seen before, who showed me some really nice tricks.

Ah, that explains it. I was initially suspicious when I didn't see the question mark, but I figured maybe it was his stage costume.

Dr. Woggle and The Radio (http://www.myspace.com/drwoggle). Pretty much the perfect music for the last night of a juggling convention.

Thanks! I had terrific time. Had so much fun hanging around with everyone.
Duncan, M4u, Robbie, Ben, Nick, Andy, the other Andy, Matt, Johannes, Ceri-Anne,
Arjan, Susannah, Chlöe, Alex, Martijn, Saito, Sean, JC, all you german people and french.
There are so many names to remember. You guys & girls gave me lots of stuff to work on.
Just a quick look at my notes tells me to get back on practicing.

Convention was awesome. There was still diabolo stuff happening after the convention.
Almost ten of us were doing diabolo on sunday evening on the camping site even though
it was closed we slept there for a night juggling, talking, eating and drinking. So actually
monday was the real final day of convention. For me this was 12 days of diabolo. Sleeping
too less and having fun with new people. Great shows. Definite highlight was the Trespace
shows, the both 2.

Meet up was great. The first two days people were pretty silent at the gym. Not much talking
and changing happening there. But by the end of convention, people knew each other at the gym.
Gym started to feel like home, you knew your family and we had conquered part of the gym for
diabolo juggling.

I had the best time there. Now i'm dead tired. Already slept for 12 hours straight. Now i have
to weeks to regroup and head to Finnish Diabolo Convention. I didn't have camera with me but
i appreciate if you could share pictures with me trough facebook or other means.

Oh also stick grind record would be over 13mins. Three people broke that simultaneously on sunday
night. Samuli continued 1minute more than me and the spanish guy. ;) I will stop writing. There's
too much to tell you. You would just had to be there.

Hi guys,

This is my first post,  hoooray

it was a pleasure to meet so many diabolo-players and jugglers at the EJC.
i really liked the members of this community, duncan, marco and and and and .......
Thats the reason, for my registration here.
These days in Karlsruhe were some of the best in my life.....
10 Days of party - and - Juggling --> maybe the best combination ever

It was really nice to jam with M4U, Duncan, Fini, Pranay, William Wei, Thaia & petit Lu, Diabololumberto, martijin and BusK.....

Sry there were so many people and names  :)

The shows were awesome and it was also a honor to preform on the Germanstage.

It was really inspirating for me to see so much ideas in Diaboling in such a short.

The right words?   maybe:   mindblowing, 1 more trick and my head will explode
                                             and  wooooooooooooooooooooooow

K, thats enough for the first post
I really enjoyd the time with you.....
maybe there will be a remeeting in Spain

Hey y'all!

Yeah, it was EPIC.  EJC 2008.  Wow.  Rather than re-write everything, I'll simply put a couple of links in:

My High-Low-Goal-Crush-Bane-Surprise post from rec.juggling:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.juggling/browse_frm/thread/6fcf1e8826df2171#

My workshop handouts for anyone who didn't get one (I printed 40 for each workshop, and that was way low sometimes...I printed 100 out for the multiplex workshop and ran short...)

Great to see y'all, if only sometimes for a moment.  Duncan, you da man.  Sean, I want those glowballs!!!  haha

Much love!  When y'all gonna come over to the U.S. for a festival?   ;)

Wow.

I'll second that.

It was great. Highlights would definitely have to be the Gala show and having free reign of the swimming pool, but really it all rocked. It was good to meet even more d.ca people, and although I didn't mingle as much as I should have at the meetup I did get to chat to a fair few diaboloists over the course of the week.
Thanks to Nick for giving me an idea for a new trick (well new for me) and Matt Hall for the vertax workshop, I can almost do a suicide :) well I can, but then it all goes a bit wrong afterwards, I'll get there eventually.
Hopefully I'll be seeing a few of you again this weekend at Crawley.

If i remember correctly Duncan took several pictures from the meet up with many cameras
that different people gave him. So if you happen to own one of those cameras containing
picture of us all. Please share it ;) We can photoshop some names for people to recognize.

I moved this here to avoid derailing the EJC diabolo video thread.

Who all is in that photo? Neat photo... a bit hard to ID faces with that resolution though. Diabolo.ca Gallery (http://diabolo.ca/gallery)?

edit - Oh - just realized that if I sign into facebook you have labelled some people.

edit2 - Alex sent me the photo. Taken by Duncan on Alex's camera. Click the image below for the full size if you want to save it or see it up closer. Perhaps someone else has a sharper version. I tried my best to improve it, but it's still a blurry image:
