Get a better video player than Quicktime? VLC (http://www.videolan.org/)

Seconded.  Much as I love my Apple stuff, Quicktime winds me up faster than any other program I can think of.  Meanwhile, VLC works.

May I suggest GomPlayer (http://www.gomlab.com/eng/) ?
It has a couple more features VLC doesn't have, it's very nice  :)
