Definitely inside. Rules like last year seems fine, but there should be 2 rounds per combat, and some more character. And qualifications need to be done before the start of the battle.
Otherwise last year was great. And the year before as well! Looking forward to it.

There is Codarts in Rotterdam, which is a good school in my opinion, if you want to add movement/expression to your diabolo. Arjan and Dixie are teaching some hours a week. The main juggling teacher, also for diabolo players, is Gregor Kick. He comes from club/ball juggling, not diabolo. He is good in making your training structured, your posture clean, and aware about your artistic choices.

As said above, there are different schools, with different style. School A may be good for one person, and bad for another one. To know more about a school you are interested in, I would recommend contacting the school and asking if you can visit it. In some school you can even follow the program for a week.

From what I know, there is no higher education in Circus in Europe that are super good for pushing your diabolo technique. Taiwan and Malaysia might be good for that. The schools in Europe are good to improve your technique a bit, while improving your performance skills, physicall skills (accrobatics...) and finding your concept and style.

The small mistake I see is to transfer your shuffle to your left before throwing the 4.
The bigger mistake is to not throw your 4 far in of to your right.
Good luck and keep it up!

To me the purpose of the battle is to have fun before everything else. The first battles, in brussels, were the best to me and the only thing that motivated the competitors was to battle, not to win non-diabolo products or diabolo products but of a extremely poor quality and so.

To me a sponsor is not to bring big prices to the competitors. That would indeed change the spirit of the battel, and I think that's bad. I think a sponsor should bring visibility to  the event and to the diabolo discipline.  This is why I m for external sponsors. Even if their drinks are not  the ones I support the most.

Hi! Great you discuss this in Public.
I think as many sponsors as possible, as well none diabolo ones are great. I think it is great that Red Bull sponsored the event in Taiwan. In my view, the sponsors should not interfere too much with the competition. For example, they should interfere about judging... But if they organize a location that is nicer for filming prepossess, or organize cloth for the participants for their publicity, it is all fine for me. It would be great if those competitions become more main stream, so I m ok with some interference of external sponsors. In my opinion, you should contact Red Bull, and other extrem sport brands, and see what can come out of the deal.

Let's be honest, we can not have a diabolo battle that is more main stream, without any external interference.

@Donald, Thanks for the editing work. I m looking forward to watch this big project!

I remember something about 20-30 minutes, but no clue if I m correct. I guess it depends as well if you are allowed to hover it in between or not. I think people can hold it for ever now.
I know Dixie did a long run in the EJC in Finland. I ask him about it.

Indeed, I find a bit sad to make it Friday just before the gala. The diabolo competition will most likely have delay. After the competition, the people who have to go to the gala will not be able to join the diabolo-beer hang out. If the gala starts at 20h you want to be there at 19h to have good places. Sometime the gala location is not on the ejc site, but in a theater, so we need to calculate the travel time as well.

What about a diabolo meeting Thursday at 21h?
I think it s less sad to miss the fire open stage then be tale for the gala. After the diabolo meeting, we will have all the time to party together.

Thanks for all the organisation!
