Nice video! A bit long but the change of scenery makes up for it.
I didn't like the music tho..

Is there a HQ download version available?

Practice making the loop (slack) without a diabolo. It may look silly but it helps to learn the hand motion.

I'm probably missing the glaringly obvious here, but that link doesn't seem to work

is there a more recent two high thread? or another link?

You have to replace 'viewtopic.php?t=' with 'index.php?topic=' (both times without the quotes ofc), then it works.

About diabolo string.
I see you live in Antwerp, which is good because you have the choice of two juggling stores not to far away. (also known as 'de chirowinkel', they sell a bit of everything, but also some juggling equipment)
www.jonglerie.Be (This one's a bit outside the city center, but they only sell juggling related stuff)

You also still have the choice of ordering  your stuff online, is my favourite.

I would really like to see alu sticks with white foam.
Why doesn't henrys make these sticks? I think a lot of people would buy them.

I've got 3 questions.

- If there are text instructions on the dvd, what language are they in? German or English?
- Which payment methods do we have when ordering the dvd?
- What are the shipment costs to Belgium?

Tutorials / Re: 3 diabolo high tutorial
« on: May 27, 2008, 05:06:20 PM »
I'm learning 3 high and I'm using the trapeze start. It's starting to work (record is 6 throws), but I have a problem sometimes.

I've got 1d on the string and 1 in trapeze, throw the 3th one up and launch the first from my string. Now for about 40% of the times the diabolo that is being "un-trapezed" gets in a 'knot' (the string is twisted, but not around the axle) and is unable to launch.
Anyone with similar problems that can tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I can't really tell myself because I'm looking up when doing this. If I try the trapeze start with only 2 diabolos I don't have this problem, probably because I don't have to hurry. I also don't think it is the trapeze slipping down since I can launch the first diabolo without a problem.

EDIT: I'm using standard finesses.

I received my bearing fly's today. Loving them!

Now I've noticed I can move the axle for about 1-2mm between the hubs. Is this normal or should I tighten them?

Nice video!

It happens to all of us everyday, but it's fun to see someone else screw up ;).

Name: Niels
Location: Roosdaal/Belgium
Age: 20
Website: none

1. How many years have you diaboloed for? Couple of years (don't know for sure, but I think I bought my jazz 4-5 years ago), but I've been diaboloing more serious since 2 years (= 2 summers).

2. What or who got you started? Can't really remember, but I think I saw someone do some crazy tricks on TV. So I searched my toy-diabolo and got hooked.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general? Diaboloing makes me happy! If the weather conditions are good, not too hot and no rain/wind, I can diabolo whole day long without a problem.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average? 1 hour.

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo? I did it once for a group of children. But I'm not really planning any performaces in the future.

6. Do you juggle other props? If so: balls, clubs, rings, cigar boxes, devil sticks... ? I can juggle three balls. I want to learn clubs too.

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string? Finesse G2 (haven't played the G3 yet) + evolution 1-kit, Henrys alu (indestructible), henrys yellow.

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best? I like doing 1d and 2d. I just started learning 3d but that's something I'll learn properly next summer.

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do? 1d, I like mini-gens and looking for different ways to get into mini-gens. 2d, 2 high.

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done? 3d feed the sun done by Priam + multiple diabolo passing between Jibe and Tony.

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)? Driving me nuts --> 2d hyperloops, sometimes I can get it going (but I think not enough speed is my main problem), but I can't exit yet.
Working on --> 2d high + siteswaps

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you? MFP (diabology), but also the relax movies (drop it like it's hot, hot teen on cam, etc) from sean_ and co, I really like their style.

You could order in a belgian webshop ( or (open this site in internet explorer)).
Mail the webshop first, so you're sure you get the G3. Prices for G2 and G3 are the same, but the G3 is a better product for the same price. You never know if you ever want to start 3d, so make sure you get the G3.

Buy the finesse G3! They have been around for a month or three, but it's possible that some dealers still have and sell the G2. So make sure you get the G3, because if you want to start 3d in a year or two you don't end up with 2 G2's and 1 G3.

Henrys alu is a good choice, the grip doesn't get of if you hit the ground alot. The only problem is that the tips tend to chip of and eventually rip your string in two, but you can easly solve that with some sand paper (schuurpapier).

Consider buying 25m of henrys yellow string. As long as you're diaboloing, you'll be needing string. It's cheaper to buy a roll of 25m once, instead of buying 2or3 rolls of 10m. Also, if you have to order your stuff online, you don't want to pay shipment cost just for a 10m roll.

and i don't know if i should be asking this here but, concerning the VoTW competition, what has more chances of getting elected(or chosen), 1, 2 or 3D? I'm just asking cause I'm thinking of taking a shot at it someday :P

A solid 4d low should do the trick. j/k
It doesn't matter, as long as your trick is creative.

If you saw The DaVinci Code movie, then it doesn't look like the holy grail ;)

But if you saw Monty Python's holy grail, it does. Or maybe more like one of those crazy chinese one-sided diabolos.

I was skimming through the posts and thought you said Holy Water  ;D

But a diabolo does look a lot like the holy grail.

I had the same problem with my alu's.  They are dangerous, so I bought new sticks, diamond editions.

You're talking about olobaid's sticks right?
How are they? I'm thinking about buying a pair myself. They look kinda fat compared to alu's, isn't that a problem?

I got the same problem.
I took my g2's to the beach last year and since then my axels keep rusting from time to time. So the beach is a big no no for playing diabolo.

I tried a few things and the most effective one was giving my axels a vinegar-bath. You could also try bathing them in real coca-cola, it works too but your axels are very sticky afterwards. In both cases (vinegar and cola) leave them in for a few hours, and clean them afterwards. Most of the rust should come of.

That’s weird I have been having the same problem when you type some thing in the search box it says Your search query didn't return any matches  but if you hit the search button again it then comes back with results. so I have always just hit the search button then hit it again to get results but I can see how this could be confusing. Has any one else had this problem? Should this be talked a bout in the Policy & Feedback board?

I think the first time you search, you search for the word inside the thread you are watching. The second time, you search the entire forum.
Normally if you search from the startpage of the forum, you will not need to hit te search button twice.
