Wow! I have been away for the best part of a decade now and that was nothing short of sublime. I remember him from the old FEDC videos from back in 'Nam. Is it now common for people to handle 3 diabolos as if they were handling 2 about a decade ago?

Just amazing.

There is no right or wrong way to learn 3d. Generally the wrap start is more stable though, that's what I learnt to do it from. There have been some people who found the throw start from a trapeze easier. Play around and see what works best for you. 3d is a long process, it's a skill that you can practice for years and suddenly get it working for what seems like no apparent reason.

fans and mini-genocide maybe? :D

A bit late on the reply but the trick that pushed my 2D forward was frontwrap vortex's. The motion is used in so many other tricks so it's a really good one to learn IMO. I remember a really good tutorial that was posted years and years ago that helped me, I'll see if I can find it for you.

EDIT: Here we go

I haven't been active in quite a while, this was my first post in ages. I should point out that John (the guy in the vid) is left handed so if you're right handed reverse everything that he does. Anyone know if he is still about?

It was filmed beautifully and the tricks weren't bad either. ;)

Hats off!

These are my favourite kind of tricks. Sweet stuff for me to play around with if the rain stops today and I'm still in a sober state by the time it does. :P

Yeah, nice one. I'm hoping to work on my high a bit this summer. It's always something I've neglected a bit but it's things like this that make me want to practice it.

Hey all, I dunno if anyone has been reading my Twitter but they may have noticed the lack of updates that are diabolo related. I am actually still doing this but I haven't had time to post what's new because I've had loads of uni work and basketball recently which has meant leaving the house at 8 in the morning and not getting back 'til late in the evening.

Anyone else taking this challenge on?

'sup y'all! Started today by re-learning an easy but cool trick. You can follow my progress at but I think I'll post a weekly update/rundown on here as well.
