Thanks for the vid will.

I really really liked the sun to grind. Visually very appealing set of tricks imo.

I agree with most of whats been said thus far.

From observing most other videos there is alot more spin on the 3rd, wrapped diabolo than what you do. So maybe some 3d hover practice is in order but you seem to be doing well quite well.

Gear / Re: Fixed Axle vs. Bearing Axle
« on: April 11, 2008, 04:11:35 AM »
there are ways of adding speed in backside, right hand fritz add speed, and you can do chinese snaps in backside just on the other side (left handed), a single one of them could look quite nice. But agreed knot combos are definately easier, and longer with bearings.

i see your point but i prefer to push my own skill level so then wen someone says "this cant be done without bearings" i can find a way to do it. I think they have their place - which is to experiment with and push the boundaries but then learn that on a fixed axel to escpe that awful noise.

oh and bearings dont suicide quite right, frictions gone. not a fun time.

ok i'll stop flogging... USE FIXED AXELS!!!

You are making yourself look silly and ignorant.

It is your choice to use fixed axles but that does not mean you should push your beliefs on others because there is no way in hell this is calmly discussing the merits and disadvantages of bearings vs. fixed axle

Might it be a good time to lock this thread IMO.

PS I love your sloppy technique lz

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that i prefer bearins for 2d. I think they offer the ability to pick up and play with them with any sort of string giving the same results practically everytime. I do have 2 g2's but they require more skill and looking after than my bearing diabs (for me at least)

I learnt 2 with with fixed axles and I would have to say doing 2 with fixed axles is probably the better way to learn. They are different and you wont be able to do some tricks as well as sean's string control with bearings

In short buy some of each =)

Are you kidding me bro?

I dont care if that is mashing every integral together in an uncreative way you, have perfect control, beyond awsome.

Seriously mad skills and if you made your whole video out of one combo like that I'd love you alot.

reckon you could do that (the ring to mount the circus concave hubs on a finesse) to a finesse with fly bearings?  ;D

i also think the work on the finesse is quite impressive

nice job jurgen, very proffesional looking as always but ive drifted away from the old classics since trying bearings.

i was thinking when i chucked my fixed axle on my fly instead of bearing and tried to put it on my finesse, wouldnt it be cool to make a hub to fit onto the fly bearing thats made for the finesse.

i know i would by converter hubs if someone made them.

daniel, sorry for offtopicness

theres another thread here;topicseen#msg51235

that thread talks about a similar thing, its suggested to use sillicon lubricant (i think) or something similar that you would use on a bikes chain, dont use dw40 (according to nev)

please use the search function or look around before starting a new thread

thankyou, daniel

how about "i only smile when your bleeding" as a tribute to andy and damo of the red tide. thatd be nice lol

but i i hope it works well with the tone of the video if you get what i mean, its more important to have appropriate music supporting the video than a mish mash of tunes you like for the sake of it. enough rant

whens the video due guys? id like to see it.

Thanks Matt! I had a few other songs in mind, but I chose this as it had the least

langerz carnage is the heaviest juggling video ive seen, but its nice to see aussies reppin aussie music.

youll have to put in a song with a breakdown in next video, show these chaps whats what.

do we have any more fans of this style of music here?

Another great video showing diabolists with great control on their technique.

The main critisicm i would be guessing is coming wasnt very creative, you did alot of tricks that have been done before. Now i dont say that the video was bad and i enjoyed it, it showed me tricks to learn around my skill level and it was good use of editing (will and tjin know alot more about that than me) but beware of those points.

Last thing, that was great for the fact it was all done in an hour? Be proud of yourself, i enjoyed that.

stop bickering... josh just because you dont want to see valiums point doesnt mean it isnt there

the video was entertaining for me if nothing else it shows people around my skill level and things i can learn to do from watching them.

people shouldnt put down a video because it can ruin the creators confidence if they did it for fun, however any criticism tells you something and you just have to try and see what they wouldve liked better.

btw i like the fact youve got so many people of the similar age and skill level in your area, thats how diabolo should be; lots of fun
