Dude, one look at you and I can see great things in the future.  I really think your potential can greatly contribute to the diabolo community.  I look forward to what you can come up with in 6 more months!

Wow...I was gonna draw some manga with diabolo battles, but I guess some animators beat me to it.  If it wasn't so silly it would've been good.

Holy jeezus...this is STELLAR.  How long did you guys rehearse everything?  Looks like a lot of work went into this, so kudos to you guys for that.  I'm still a beginner in performance so I can't contribute anything to you guys for regarding the performance.  Rather, I learned more from you guys than you guys would from my post.  But anyway, those guys (or that guy) with 6 months of diabolo experience must have had a pretty nerve-wracking time up there, but it looks like they (or he) did great.  Keep up the good work guys!  I'm pretty sure with a bit more work you guys could be another big diabolo group worthy of mention in the diabolo world.  But that's just my opinion  :-D

Beautiful.  Should I praise the video quality and style or the tricks?  I think I'll do both ^^.

Nice camera.  Says quite a bit about your tastes.  Nice visual styles.  Says quite a bit about your experience.  Nice different props.  Says quite a bit about your preferences.  Oh, and nice hair  :P.

This is amazing.  Great publicity too.  We can all pitch in ideas to add to this, and this will be BIG.

Very happy belated birthday to you all, Sean and Mark.  May this year bear diabolo-ful experiences for you all.

That was purely amazing.  Sprinkler start was jaw-dropping and judging from the prolonged 3D suns, I'd say he's done a lot of practicing.  And when the music started, I knew with a bit of certainty that he was Taiwanese and he's a fan of William Ling (reference to BJC 2007 *ahem*).

I was never really too fond on preparing to tank through 15 minutes of pure content, but I can't say that anymore the more I watch this video.  The level of awesomeness of the collab videos has reached a point where my brain ceases to process that awesomeness.  During viewing, my neuron activity flatlined and I was left in a state of pure dumbfoundedness and ecstasy.  Great, 特好, すごい, prima, fantastique, and any other adjectives which I know of that can describe this video with goes out to all of the amazing techies who made this possible.  The tricks were all more evolved from their previous years of infancy and the integrals (yes, so many integrals I see) were as bountiful as ever.  Beautiful settings too, which I guess must be part of the blood and sweat Jesse has secreted in his careful selection.  I would LIKE to say that it'd suck if my video wasn't chosen, possibly due to my inexperience with filming, but since I never made the deadline anyway I'll keep quiet about this.  Next year, with mind-blowing tricks and background, definitely, I promise.  And if not, then next next year, with breath-taking high-quality shots, I promise.  And if not......

By the way:  From Martijn:
On a different note, I'm thinking of taking up the task of editing next year's collab, this video got me all excited again :)
I like that idea :)  We get to see another editing master at work...but hey, on the other hand, find some other people with good editing hands and work together on it.  Better yet, Get Jesse and work together on might look more awesome?

NUUOOO!  Diabolo is my "thing", and if I lost my skills to that, I'd be a completely different person.  Plus, reality is that at the age where bills must be payed, there's less time to do everything.  If I lost all of my skills, I'd kill myself trying to reserve time to re-learn everything as well as paying for tuition, bills, etc (because I absolutely must  :P).

So all it comes down to, if we want to follow through with Jammy's idea, would just be to take all the blogs and whatnot and supercondense them into a better-looking format...?  We could probably do a supercondensing of all the useful and interesting diabolo information and put them up somewhere, but where's the fun in that?  And that'd take a long time to do...

Did we mention emotional support?

If there's anything diabolo-related, this is the place to be.  Very rarely do you find anything better on the internet than  Heck, there's practically everything here, AND kitchen sinks (someone should probably do a follow-up video of'd be cool).  This place has also been a huge cornerstone for trick advancement.  I'd say this is a very pivotal forum for the diabolo universe.  Keep it up, people, and here's to another five!  (Drinks and celebrates outside with 5-minutes of unwrapped infinite suicide)

General / Re: Destined to Diabolo: Training in Taiwan (Part 1)

Thanks for all the comments, guys.  First off:

but unfortunately I arrived in Taiwan a little late and only got to walk in on William's unofficial practice with MHD...

I arrived early July.  That's around when the camp started.  Unless if you went to Taiwan late August to September or even later than that, then I'd say you'd arrived earlier than me, because on the first day of the camp one of the coaches told me that I'd missed William's practice by a few days.  How often does he practice, Chickeneater?  Do you know?  I might be talking about something different so I want to make sure.

To pich:  As far as I know, there's no website.  If you want I can pm you coach Huang's cell phone number.

To anyone out there, I can pm you coach Huang's Taiwanese cell phone number, if you pm me for it.  If you want to participate in these camps, wait 'till next summer, because they're over for now.  If you talk to coach Huang and negotiate on practice sessions, I'm sure she'll figure something out.  That is, if you guys can speak Mandarin...:)

Part two coming out soon!  (As soon as I edit that part, anyway...)

And by the way, after part two comes out, expect a short report on the history of Taibolos.   ;)

I now believe in having orgasms JUST in the mind...

You guys have impressed me so hard, I now cannot help but think of you guys as's why:

Awesome video editing guy + Awesome tricks guy + Another awesome tricks guy + A whole sh*tload of fun = "Epic Starts Here"

Oh, and the trick at the end, holy jeebus that was epic...too bad my own trick *closely* resembles it...(which I intended to submit as a VotW...?)

Good job on the skills, guys.  We'll look forward to what you have for us when you ARE of age for this fourm  :-D

Gear / Re: How many sticks have you broken?
« on: October 26, 2009, 09:41:55 AM »
Wow...I'm not as hardcore as you guys but my broken count is still something to cringe over.  A couple of wooden sticks (not that much, but I lost count), one slightly bent MB aluminum with its long foam ends shaved off (on concrete roads), and a new Taibolo short carbon that's completely unsheathed from its foam grip.

Absolutely stunning post.  I have an audition coming up this Saturday and I was wondering how the heck I was supposed to put up with another performance.  These posts and videos helped GREATLY.  I can't express how much I appreciate Luke telling us all this; I suppose it's one of the perks for being fellow jugglers.  Thanks so very much, Luke.  Of course, there are many more performance posts out there but Luke's, in my opinion, is up there.

Gear / Re: Diabolo Preferences

Hmm...Very interesting, of course.  This data, if taken to further years, can be computed into appropriate functions that model the popularity of the diabolos.  That would be interesting to see.  One thing's for sure:  For people interviewed, Harlequin and Yoho/Diabigs will be expected to hit a horizontal asymptote of y=0 a little after 2009, if plotted along a graph of # of people using it versus time in years.  By the way...this isn't taking into account other factors, so the predictions will be nice and linear.  That's all I can make of the graph, actually.  Anybody else?
