Tricks / Re: Naming of Tricks

Should trick names be forced universal? or should people be left to make up their own names?

very good points there
theres nothing stopping people calling tricks their own names if it helps them remember it, it may actually help them in a performance if they forget what trick comes next they could call the trick certain words and turn it into a story which they say in their mind. just a thought. but whilst talking to other people about tricks give them specific names so they actually know what you're on about.

lol jeez, as butterflies see things in UV you should get those invisible pens with the UV sensitive and write on it 'butterflies be warned' or something

i was doing string round the neck bounce ( no idea what its called) and someone distracted me, big mistake i know and it went toward my face and sliced, well friction burned, my top eye lid open. was not a pretty site. but as you do i carried on and it looked as if i got into a fight the next day.

lol nice to know someone else has the same music for their performance, i use that linken park song too. performancewise it was very good, loving the vertaxing. loved the cigar boxes too. only thing which was annoy was the glare of the lighting off the stage, couldnt see much but could make out most of it

General / Re: What songs do you think are good for diabolo videos?

Tricks / Re: yoyo start?

also its a good start for performing. just leave your diabolo set up on stage with it and then run on and whip it up. plus your can get quick alot of height. oh and i did the whip duicide off it and worked perfectly, even though im not the greatest at duicides :P plus gives alot more speed compared to most starts. just got to make sure you're starting it on the correct side hehe

try going from the "yoyo start" into a whip duicide?
hmmm good plan, ill get back on that one. thats quite convenient as the sticks are already in one hand in a V and its tossed on one side.

i recon you could get a fairly nice combo out of it, but nothing spectacular.

i know, my string at the moment is about 2 weeks old and its normal length. If you follow the URL you can see it and it actually gives quite a substantial amount of speed for a start

Just now wondering how non attached yo-yos start(never seen one sorry) so i saw a video on how to start it. Then it hit me, that start but for diabolo. I figured it would be pretty cool. I'm not entirely sure if anyone has done it yet, and i did every possible search on this site and others but didnt see anything, so i've recorded a little video on this start.
sorry about quality had to use my phone:

the magnet idea looks promising. 2D with both diabolos having the same charged rings, they would repel, imaging the tricks you could do with that

if you think about it, if it was dropped it wouldnt roll away, well as far anyways. the only flaw i see with that design is what keeps the bearing from sliding off it?
