By the way, Has annybody here actually managed to hit a bird with a diabolo? Tha would be funny and tragic at the same time as all great comedy is...

Not with a diabolo, but I did once hit a bird while juggling 7 balls.  It just kind of got knocked off it's path and kept going, my little beanbags aren't quite as powerful as a diabolo.

Extremespin.com has replacement hubs for the Circus for $19 and they're based in the U.S. I think it says they're made of vinyl.

I'm in the process of ordering a Henry's Circus diabolo and I wanted to get some aluminum handsticks too.  But there is also this vinyl replacement spool for the Circus that I could order and it says that if you use the original spool with aluminum handsticks it could get damaged.  I was wondering if this is actually a serious problem because I would rather not pay the extra 19 Dollars if I don't have to.

Going to the IJA festival? In Iowa?!?!

I don't think so. Unless someone gives me a few thousand dollars for no reason. And then if I had to spend it on a trip to America I'd go to the WJF instead.

I thought it would be worth a shot since you went last year.  Unfortunately, I didn't go last year, but I am going this year.  I might try to make it to the WJF as well.

I'm sure somebody would help you learn 2D, like Matt Hall or any Diaboloist would be happy to.  If I learn how to do 2 before I go I'll help you.   Also, will you be going this year Luke?

Name: Rory Tatum
Location: Austin, Texas, USA
Age: 16
Website: Don't have one

1. How many years have you diaboloed for?
I just recently got my diabolo so just a few weeks.

2. What or who got you started?
Roy Paterson at the Texas Juggling Society and Matt Hall.

3. What do you like best about the diabolo or juggling in general?
I like the visual returns from hours of practice.

4. How many hours a day do you diabolo on average?
Well, it's increasing.  Total diabolo and juggling time would be 1.5-2 hours usually but more on a weekend or thursday night(juggling meeting)

5. Do you ever perform with the diabolo?
I haven't yet but will probably add it in to the act I already have

6. Do you juggle other props? If so: balls, clubs, rings, cigar boxes, devil sticks... ?
Mainly balls, but I also juggle clubs and rings, not so much cigar boxes or devil sticks though.

7. What are your favourite diabolos, sticks, and string?
Right now I have the European Harlequin ordered from Renegade with wooden handsticks and whatever string came with it.  I want some of those aluminum handsticks and I don't know anything about different strings yet.

8. Do you like working with 1, 2, or 3 diabolos the best?
I can only do 1 at the moment and have gotten 2 started once on a thursday night.

9. What is your favourite diabolo trick that you can do?
I almost did a mini-genocide today.

10. What is the most amazing diabolo trick you've ever seen done?
Matt Hall doing Excalibur Genocide, I thought that was pretty cool.

11. What tricks are driving you nuts right now (what are you working on)?
Infinite Suicide and Mini-Genocide.

12. What other diaboloists have inspired you?
Matt Hall since I got to meet him at Austin Jugglefest and Roy Paterson, he's really the only diaboloist in the area(besides me now) and I've seen some cool Ryo Yabe and Mad French Posse videos.  I also like Luke Burrage's videos on diabolo.ca all of the one's I've watched involve his teeth.
