As far as I know, one is clockwise and one is anticlockwise.

Great idea!

Perhaps we the Diabolo.ca collaboration should (partly) be made up of tricks of the week? This might encourage more people to submit. Just an idea but...

I currently have two glaries and a bearing glary.

I have two questions.

1. how does the bearing compare with other bearing diabolos

2. Is it possible to polish the glary using anything (brass polish?) to get rid of scuff marks.

Are these bearing diabolos?

Correction to option three- make that two sundia flys for about £60.  :embarassed: :)

Two more questions as well

Is a bearing not easier and better for multiple diabolo use?
How many people have broken sundia shinings/flys?

Gear / Which bearing Diabolo for me?
« on: October 27, 2011, 02:51:27 PM »
Hello
I currently have two taibolo glary diabolos and I read the thread on bearing vs fixed and decided to upgrade to a bearing diabolo of some sort.
Being nearly sixteen, I don't have an enormous amount of money and was wondering which of the options below would be best for me.

1. Ship over a couple of taibolo bearing kits for cost of $50/£31 + £? shipping to UK extra cost.
2. Get two sundia shining diabolos for about £88 from oddballs.co.UK.
3. Get two sundia suns for about £60 from oddballs.

Any advice appreciated. :)

That's the standard start and it's a lot better than rolling it along the floor. Do you have any other ideas?

There's only one thing which will definitely make it better- and it begins with a P.  ;) :-D

You'll be pleased to know i haven't personally seen these before.

However, i don't see the need to categorize and name every single trick anyone comes up with because it's impossible. There are too many tricks and almost every video that pops up on diabolo.ca has some new tricks in it. Maybe if someone comes up with a new catergory of trick.

On the upside it's good to see people working on uniqueness and taking it seriously as well as skill, because i think the two are equally important. :)

Hello Diabolo.ca,
This is my first video.
I'm not very dedicated or skilled, so creating a video was for my benfit rather than anyone else's.
Please feel free to say how amazingly talented I am.  ;)
I can now do tomicide, and am working on genocide 2d high, 2D sun and Sprinkler.
My first Diabolo video

Mini diabolos are quite good fun actually and they improve your full size diaboloing. You can toss them ridiculously high with very little effort.  :) Mind you, you can't do much besides tosses and body moves. I'm currently working on 2d with one full size and one tiny.

As for string it is generally accepted that yellow is the best, but theres no accounting for personal taste, so try it if you think white might work for you try it and compare.

Sorry to completely disagree with the last person who posted, but that's just my opinion.  :)

First things first, I suggest you read the posting rules under the "I'm new" section of the forum before Sean gets annoyed with you.  ;)

Not bad for a first video but i think you should at least make the effort to go outside where the light is better.

Diabolo is manly
That would explain why 95% of diaboloists are men.
Baton twirling is very girly, but as soon as it becomes staff twirling it makes you look like a ninja and very hard. Same thing with poi actually- nunchucks are just heavy poi aren't they?

I was just thinking about how there are a lot of diaboloists who juggle (and vice versa) but not very many who do say baton twirling, poi or other circus skills.

I searched the forum and only found one or two poi related topics, and none for staff twirling. There were a few yoyo related forums, but i think the amount of juggling there dwarfs all of them.

I dont think this is a bad thing but i was wondering why juggling and diabolo were so closely related.

What are your thoughts?
