Definately want to use fixed axel.  I got nowhere with two bearing axels, and got it fast with the fixed.  I used smaller diabolos for starters, it seemed to be a little easier at first.  I reccomend zeekio (http://www.zeekio.com) sidewinder or Higgins Brothers (http://www.higginsbrothers.com) Anti Gravity.

I'm always surprised how few people have Zeekio Diabolos www.zeekio.com

I have about 15 diabolos and half are zeekio.  I prefer my zeekio typhoon to my MB Finesse.  I definately take the zeekio Sidewinder over any other 4 inch diabolo on the market.  I will say that the Zeekio triple threat is the heaviest diabolo I've found and I don't like near as much as my Sundia Wide axel.  Sundia is a great diabolo for the money, just a little pricey.

I always say learn with a fixed axle and once you're good, take it to another level with a bearing.

http://diabolosam.com  It's a spinoff company (pun intended) from yoyosam.

White is definitely the brightest.  The other colors seem about the same.  It get's tough to land the diabolo in the dark.

Good luck

I'd stay away from the Duncan Phoenix.  Mine was wobbling after I had for a week and never has been quite right since.

htttp://DiaboloSam.com has a bunch of sticks.  They have some I haven't seen anywhere else.  I'm pretty sure they ship to the UK.

Yoyosam also has a big selection and carries the Finessse and Sundia.  They also carry Spintastics, Zeekio and a couple of other brands that are hard to fine.

One more thing I learned on judging speed is that it's much easier with multi-color diabolos, like the Babache Harlequin, or Higgins Millennium, Sundia or the only triple I've seen with multi color cups are the Sundia Fly, and Zeekio Triple Threat.

The colors blur together in different ways at different speeds, and make it easier to judge speed.

I like the Zeekio strings.  I just started with a triple bearing diabolo, and this string was way better at helping get the whips going than the Sundia string.

I also used a Zeekio Sidewinder when I got started and was really happy with it.

When I started getting blister I put on some cotton gloves.  Eventually I got calluses and i didn't need them anymore.

Great tutorial vids.  I've been trying to adapt some yo-yo trick to diabolo and that first vid went way farther than I was even thinking.

Great vids, thanks for posting.
