Ty, if i can ill try a few more in the coming weeks.

The diabolo just seems to be very straight in the air no matter how high it goes. My release on triples only always tilt it immediately. Any tips ;)?

I'm not sure how to really explain it, it just came with practice. Using a hard/smooth cup diabolo helps a lot. But I'd say its lifting motion, and use both sticks to do it. Also the faster the diabolo is the better.

do you juggle with this balls in the back?

no they are just there

id buy them if they would fit on a sundia

also i cant really tell from the angle of the pictures, do they protrude from the cup? would i be able to set them on the ground and have them spin on these things?

Performing / Re: How much have you be paid for a performance?
« on: October 22, 2007, 05:38:24 AM »
i dont usually like to get paid to preform but i have done a few of those gigs where you just walk around and entertain people at tables and things like that
i get paid about $175-$250US per hour
its basically just practicing so its very easy hah

for a 15 minuet performance i would charge more i think, but it depends on if you are supposed to talk and bring in an audience or if your just supposed to be there and people can stop and watch if they want, also it depends on if people have to pay to watch your show or not, and finally the quality of performance.

bearing diabolos are a great invention use them if you like them dont use them if you dont like them, but in my opinion they make many things possible that was before impossible or at least impractical

aaro's post was the best thing i have read on this forum for quite a while
great stuff

Very nice work - I noticed you put a 5x into your recent routine so you must have it solid  :o

Actually it is a Fly - the old model used to say inside the cup "Fly Diabolo Feeling Corp. Tiawan" The new ones simply say "Sundia" since the company re-branded from Folksports to Sundia - its the same diabolo though - the GID ones form Sundia still say Fly inside the cup.

heh yeah i found that out today because someone had a fly (at ija)

Videos / my trip to taipei taiwan 2007
« on: May 24, 2007, 06:19:56 AM »
just got back from taipei taiwan a few days ago where i competed in the 2nd PEH cup

ive got some videos and pics to share

made it to the finals and ended up getting 2nd in the prop competition which was the one i cared about (lost to Saito) and got 10th in the diabolo stage competition which was still quite good considering the number of people competing

it wasn't only a diabolo competition there was also juggling and acrobatics but most people only competed in the diabolo parts which were under 12 stage, under 12 teams, stage, teams, and prop

it was great to see so many people who were all quite good at diabolo also it was surprising that most of them either did not know how to juggle balls or clubs or could only do 3

i highly recommend this competition it was a great experience and i hope to attend again next year

if anyone has any questions about the competition or my trip i will be more than happy to answer them

pics: (diabolo pics start on page 2)
should see some familiar faces

me practicing with the taiwanese crew

the finals of my 2min diabolo prop competition routine (2nd place)

the finals of Saito's 2min diabolo prop competition routine (1st place)

the finals of Keven's 2min diabolo prop competition routine (3st place)

Ryo Yabe practicing 4d early the morning of the competition

uploading many more vids and i will post as they go up so check back latter
