Videos / Re: Short and Long
« on: July 19, 2007, 02:02:32 PM »
that must be the shortest string I have ever seen :p, but great! Really like the style and I looove how Sean_ (I think?) has his cigarette in his mouth while pulling of great tricks, that makes it look even easier, classy :).

Hey all,

it's been like one year since I posted on this board, I have been busy with other things but never really let go of juggling and diabolo. This summer we're going to bring the Gospel in Eastern Germany and I have been given the task to 'attract attention' in the villages we are going to.
This is a video of me training in the park yesterday. I hope you'll enjoy it.

General / Re: What move caused your addiction?
« on: January 01, 2007, 11:09:24 AM »
it wasn't really a move that got me hooked, more the fact that I discovered internet with diabolotricks and the dutch forum and stuff. and the books of Donald Grant. I don't diabolo that often anymore, but I still progress :-).

that's called a crossed-stick-sun (CS-sun ((not counter-strike ;))))

the vortex is a great trick but I found it very very hard to understand and almost to pull off at first, I have learned it about 8 months after I learned the shuffle, and I could already fan at the time...

I pulled of the sprinkler before I did a sun, but that was because I didn't understand the sun. Trapezes finally start comming after one year of 2D, so don't hurry with that. Just diabolo a lot, try bigger shuffles, little shuffles, wrapping with left and with right, etc. You will gain control gradually and finally be able to pull of a vortex-over-the-arm-vortex or something like that (i've just learned that, so that's about one years work for me :p)

that video was awsome :), he has so much control over his diabolos..

And I loved the suit. It makes me think of Willy Wonka, so that's cool.

this picture was taken on the weddingday of the sister of my girlfriend (that's why we are so beautifully dressed  :P), and I brought my diabolo's (offcourse), so in a spare minute I was diaboloing a bit, and my girl watched me. I liked the composition of the picture, it has something to it. I don't know, but I just liked to post it here.

Diabolo.ca Policy & Feedback / Re: New Forum setup
« on: September 21, 2006, 08:04:17 AM »
I like to agree with Sharpes, I thought the old forum was nice because you could see if there were new posts in a blink of an eye.. and now that has changed. I am always a bit conservative, so I think I just have to get used to this lay-out  :-X

Tricks / 2 high
« on: September 08, 2006, 09:29:25 AM »
I don't think you have to look at the 1, because you can do a sun between your arms blind. I would look at the diabolo in the air, because then you can anticipate where it's going to land.

General / Diabolo Styles & "What is your style"?

probably it would be nice to define all the styles there are before asking people what style they have...

wow, this almost sounds like science. You should try to make a video, or something not only text-based, because if you visualize it, it might become a lot clearer..

good luck ;)

I have been looking forward to the Collaboration video since I first heard of it, and it's even better then I thought it would be. It's so cool to be part of a project like this, with everybody being satisfied about the result and all :).

Martijn & g0t: You have done a great job, I am looking forward to the next video of you guys.

Btw, I think another collab. vid should not be made very soon either..

Gear / weight of used diabolos
« on: August 14, 2006, 06:47:25 PM »
well, everytime the diabolo drops a little bit of it's material wears of, and after a few years it's actually a few grams. I already knew there was difference between my older and newer ones, because of the sharpness of the edges, but that the differnce was so significant I didn't know..
