I'll make it easy for everyone -

Yes please Ginger Tom!  I haven't even got around to trying genocides of any type, so any help before hand would be most welcomed!

Nice video!  I liked the long distance whip catch

Single, Double and Triple right handed cradle(s) to suicide(s).  It was easier than I thought!

I finally figured out chinese whips, I think.  It is horribly ugly, but it definitely is adding speed.

I can also slowicide from the right hand, wrapped and unwrapped :D
Wrapped after left hand wrap
Unwrapped = no wrap, just sort of toss it over to the left and catch it when it swings back up from underneath

I have been physically out of the country or sick for the past month.  All I have done since touching my diabolo two days ago is learn grinders, and a few variations of the grinder

I was messing with the idea of just filming any new trick I learned, since I'm still new to this thing.  We'll see!

And I would go outside, but it is usually 9 or 10 at night when I'm practicing.  It is a little bit dark a that time, so I stay inside where I can turn on a light \:D/

Fritz release, Single Fritz release, and Alternating Fritz release

Probably the hardest part for me on this trick was that due to the low ceiling in my room (and me being fairly tall) was that I couldn't get the diabolo high enough to release the string

Tricks / Inverse trapeze (was: Trick, combo, or just luck?)

I was just goofing off yesterday and it just sorta happened.  Why can't infinite suicides be so easy!??!

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what I did.  Thank you!

Tricks / Inverse trapeze (was: Trick, combo, or just luck?)

Could someone tell me what I did?  I'm just interested in knowing if I did an actual established trick, a combination, or just got lucky and didn't kill myself.  I have the video linked after this, and I'll try to explain it in detail as well underneath.

- Start with a clockwise half sun (under and over the left stick)
- Reverse half sun (back over the left stick)
- Into a reverse left hand trapeze (trapeze from the right to left over the left stick)
- You can stall here, or continue the rotation through in a counter clockwise reverse-trapeze sun
- Depending on speed, you can fling the diabolo up in the air, or just get it back on the string.

Much thanks!

Gear / Orange Henry's circus Diabolo 4 sale ( price lowered )
« on: May 12, 2006, 11:32:23 PM »
Actually, in US dollars a new Circus costs between 38-45 dollars.  Since the only place it seems to be able to get an orange circus is Firetoys in the UK (priced at $44 after converting, shipping not included), the $30 base price is a pretty good deal.

I just bought a blue circus (to go with my yellow one) so I'm out :(

That was so smooth!  He made it look almost too easy

Well, it is a very different icon/pin thing that is in use that looks like it will come in behind any actual person's location.

And there's an IJDb globe?  Well, worth a shot anyway!

***Edit: Okay I found it.  Clicking on the big picture of a globe sure works well.

I'll link it in the signature after this post -

But its just a record of the distance I've moved my mouse in the past 3-4 months :D

Add stores/shops to the map to simplify shopping.

Wouldn't it be great to know that there is an awesome store close-by that you did not know existed?  Let's all add Places to the map to help everyone out.

I added to the map, and it is currently behind my icon when zoomed out far enough.

I'm in Agoura Hills, California.  North (and West) of Los Angeles!

I was working on genocides today.  On the 24th attempt I broke the string on the right hand side.  Since I don't have any replacement string, I learned that having extra string would be a good thing

Gear / - circus colors?

Thanks for the input everyone!  In the event that I do go ahead and get another diabolo, I'll probably end up at Firetoys.  Unless jugglingstore expands their selection :o

Now I will go back to braining myself with suicides
