Videos / Turbo Fest 2016 group video!
« on: December 05, 2015, 04:27:48 AM »
Hey guys, it's been a while, sorry for neglecting you.
Pre-reg just opened for Turbo Fest 10, and tickets are only $60 (Canadian) until the end of the year when they go up to $75.
That gets you 4 days, 3 shows, a ton of workshops, and unlimited Mario Kart 64. Head over to to get your pass! (Should I make a separate Events thread about this?)

In the meanwhile, check out this year's group video, there is even some pretty cool diabolo in thar!

And if you still have questions, don't hesitate to post them here or to send an email over to info(at)

Also, due to lack of time, the last few profile videos weren't posted here they are:

Every Monday (starting last week) until December 1st, Turbo 418 will be releasing short video on their YouTube channel of different Quebec jugglers.
I chose to post this one here because it's diabolo, but if you are interested then I'll come back and post here every week, no matter the prop.
(Last week's video can be seen here)

This time with Véro (Circus school graduate, Clown and Turbo 418 founder) &

Please direct all Turbo questions to the official thread.

Community & Events / Turbo Fest 7 official thread
« on: October 08, 2012, 03:57:31 PM »
It's time to start thinking about Turbo Fest 2013!

Every year we try to evolve and add something to the festival, and every year
we ask the attendees what they would like to see next year...
Due to extremely popular demand, we are adding an extra day! Turbo Fest 7
begins at 6pm on Thursday January 3rd, and continue through to 6pm on Sunday
the 6th, 2013.
With the rare treat of a 24 hour gym in North American, that's 72 hours of
juggling, partying, poutine eating and everything amazing that Turbo has to

Lots more information will be released in this thread over the coming weeks.
We'll also be releasing a juggling video EVERY Monday (and possible midweek
bonus videos) from different Quebec based jugglers, so keep an eye out for

Hope to see some of you there.

Performances / Norbi - Zoo Cirkus
« on: June 15, 2010, 03:35:24 PM »
Hey everybody! It's surely been a while since I posted on here. I have been not practicing diabolo for a long time, but about a month ago I was offered a summer contract outdoors in a cool production with live music and 2 sides and stuff. Unfortunately rings don't go well outdoors, so I decided to use the magical powers of... diabolo-is-easy-enough-that-even-after-not-practicing-for-a-couple-of-years-I-can-still-do-everything. Here is my 5th performance of a routine created to a piece of music given to me, and written in around one hour (wow, I wonder if I could undersell this any more! I just feel somewhat shy in the diabolo community now...)
Also includes my first ever attempt at 3 diabolos on stage (AND a rather impressive correction-fest before it)

15 Policy & Feedback / The life-cycle of a Forum
« on: January 06, 2007, 07:55:39 PM »
Ok, so among some of the 'elders' there has been talk of the direction of this forum... And how we can improve it.  Unfortunately it almost seems doomed...

You see, although VOTW are 1 small way to keep a forum interesting (and even they are becoming fewer and weaker) what really needs to happen is people THINKING.
Don't just post anything for the sake of boredom.
Think about new ideas, technique and the like, in the world of diabolo, then post about it... but FIRST, do your homework... has this trick already been invented (there are tons of sites out there to which you can not only look on, but should have already checked out really [and if you haven't, quit wasting time posting here, and go solidify your foundations]), has the question already been asked a BAZILLION times, AND most importantly of all.. does anyone care? As in, does anyone needs to know you are bored?

There is only a limited amount of information, technique, etc... which can be said/shared.  Once that is all said, there is little chance of revival.

The forum starts up and everyone shares a whole load of useful information and people ask new questions and everything is great.
As soon as everything is said, 1 of 2 things can heppen next...
1. the clever people search and find their answers already so don't need to post.
OR, and much more noticeable
2. the dumb people post the same questions again, and clutter up the forum by annoying everyone with their instantness.
Unfortunately both of these happen at the same time. Then everything goes sh*tty all the important people lose interest, the kids take over.
With the sudden overload of complete w*nk, the attention is diverted elsewhere and a new forum is created... and so the cycle continues.

Just a thought.

Videos / William and MHD - 3 diabolos
« on: December 31, 2006, 11:53:21 AM »
I've noticed that none of he diabolists i talk to have seen this, and it hasnt been posted here (as far as i can see... oh boy i cant wait to be corrected)

It will show a selection of the skill level in Taiwan.. and this isnt even all of them, there are others who rocks equally!

It also includes a nice fast exit from a double armstall.  Oh and some new smoothness from William (unfortunately nothing really new... but still so so smooth)

AND (yeah there is more to mention)... Jack is 11

Hey, i wanna go (mainly because i'm supposed to be in the show :-P ) but the train is too expensive for the convention (or myself) to pay for.  So i was wondering if anyone was planning on driving up from around here-ish?

I will be free from about 6pm, on Friday 3rd, in Exeter... so if you are leaving from somewhere else close, you'll have to let me get there aswell...

I'm sure the con with pay your petrol (as that counts as my travel).

Cheers in advance,

Community & Events / WJF diabolo comp anyone?
« on: July 18, 2006, 05:30:45 PM »
Tempei won't be there, none of the Frenchies will be there, most importantly Ryo won't be there, i'll be there but i'm not really feeling the diabolo comp.

So far it's.... William. Not a great comp if you ask me. Anyone going/entering?

Community & Events / EJC lost stuff
« on: July 18, 2006, 05:24:49 PM »
The hall was pretty much empty when i left, and a quick look around the hall showed me none of my lost items. I also didnt really have time to ask, as i had to leg it to the train station (i made it, just)

6 white absolute rings - fair enough, anyone can pick them up accidently. I'm not overly fussed about that, but i am 6 rings down.

5 white short handled Delphins - Ok, you MIGHT accidently pick up 1, then realize it's the wrong size (VERY few people use shorthandles, i only know 2, and neither where there). But who picks up 5 and accidently puts them in their bag.

An almost full roll of MB yellow diabolo string.

If anyone has any info, it would be much appreciated.

Videos / The lost video of Norbi (FOUND!)
« on: September 03, 2005, 12:37:16 AM »
Ok, so back in April (26th to be precise) i filmed some things, not much, and not very exciting. I only showed it to a select few (possibly just the admin crew) and then completely forgot about it.

But i found it again, and after searching through these archives, apparently i never actually posted it online. So here it is, the lost Norbi tape (clip)...

Hope y'all enjoy it.
