My newest Diabolo routine
that i've been working towards for the last year or so

Performed at the MJC 2007
Melbourne, Australia

all the body/diabolo wrapping stuff i have termed "Sweeping"
if anyone wants additional diabolo jargon for their vocabulary

Diabolo With a character= strong routine

Paying someone to make a costume for you = Good looking routine

I'm very happy with it
but looking forward to extending the charactor more

General / Workshops of Wonder

So i'm about to host my first diabolo workshop

and I've read a little bit about other successful workshops but have'nt found any other threads that quite deal with putting on a workshop

I'm gonna be Teaching the local youth circus + punters from the public
so that means a range of skill levels but noones gonna be there that has no ability at all

So i guess what I'm Asking is

What Would u ideally like to see in a workshop?

What are Succesful things that you have seen in previous Workshops?

but your suggestions don't just have to be for my workshop lets make this thread a valuable resource for every1

Tricks / Vertax / Excalibur Advanced Ramblings

So there are a couple of forums about this crazy technique involving certain videos or how to start and/or basic tricks

but I can already do all that  

so I thought how about a forum for more advanced stuff. What are people trying. where are we going

there's already a 2 diabolo excalibur thread so i guess I'm thinking more about stuff with 1

I'm working on infinite vertax trapeze suicide (on the right stick at least three rotations)

i've started getting genocides back on the string so now i'm thinking about mini genocides

and I haven't figured out quite how but i'd like to try some sort of magic knot

anyone got any body rotations going on?

also I haven't even started working on it BUT if we can do chinese whips above our heads what about below the hips exaclibur! around the legs anyone?

bring it on everyone lets get this Bolo rolling

General / Hurting and Breaking (spectators or equipment)

So the other day i was practicing my double Hyperloop Quadruple Suicide (i luv saying that name) on concrete and when my wooden stick came round instead of catching it, it hit the Concrete ground and ended up with a huge crack down one side

now i've had these sticks for years and they've been through heaps without almost a scratch so i'm guessing the speed on it must have been pretty intense and that got me to thinking what if i'd hit someone with that.

diabolos don't really hurt cos they're rubber so if a non-juggler gets hit they more likely to be freaked out but a supersonic Stick on the noggin  

how fast would it have to go to be fatal  

anyway apart from sharing that experience i wanted to ask how have other people Hurt eithier their spectators or equipment?

what moves have the most fatal Capability?

General / Strangest grind surfaces/objects

I'm interested in what things or places u guys have done grinds on
the scope of possobility is practically endless.

 a couple of years ago I used to amuse my self sending my diabolo away from me on a tightrope grind and letting it grind back. (not so original)

I also have managed to grind a ridiculusly long surf casting fishing rod
which looks really cool cause it bends in half and ur diabolo is kept on by the little ringlet thing on the end (slightly more original)

But what got me started on this is a couple of days ago after I joined this site I was diaboloing in my room and managed to do a beanbag grind  
so I tried it again and then flicked it up with the end of the stick and kept diaboloing       (very original)
