Gear / Holster/Sling for Diabolists
« on: June 04, 2005, 06:52:36 AM »
I've only seen one type of sling for holding and carrying diabolos. I have the bag from my first diabolo set. It was from Quidam, Cirque Du Soleil. I've been using that clear bad as a sling around my back to show my two Harlequins proudly. And since today is my birthday (19 years old) I'm getting two new Finesses. :D

Anyway, this is the one type I've found:

I was wondering if anyone knows of any other type of holster or sling.

Thanks,
Frank

PS I'm going to Vegas just to see two Cirque Du Soleil shows in less than a month.  :D  :D  :D  :D

Diabolo.ca Policy & Feedback / Chat Room
« on: May 09, 2005, 08:21:52 PM »
I was reading through the forums like usual today and got to thinking. I wondering if there is a chat room where everyone goes to talk (almost) in person. And if there isn't, maybe we could make one for the forums? Where I'm from no one knows what a Diabolo is, which is pretty sad. I've managed to convert a few people into diabolists. But anyways, what I'm getting at is I enjoy talking to people with the same hobbies as I so a chatroom could be a cool idea.

Anyones thoughts on this?

Gear / String Length
« on: April 21, 2005, 12:47:11 PM »
I've been looking around and have seen many of the stickies saying which sticks are good, what kind of string to use, and which diabolos spin the fastest and are most stable. I've yet to find one on how long your string could or should be. I agree it's all preforance but how does the length of the string affect the user and the users skills?

I'm New / Getting very frustrated.(with 2d)
« on: April 20, 2005, 01:26:25 AM »
Well first off let me introduce myself. My name is Frank Switalski from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. I've just recently gotten back into Diabolo after seeing people juggling at college. When I say getting back into it I only mean I did it for a month or so before about a year ago. My biggest problem is I am getting so frustrated with two diabolos. I can't do more than shuffle them for a few moments. I understand I've only been at this a few months. Everytime I start it, I try to correct, it falls, I try again... Only to the same fate. Could my equipment have something to do with it. I'm using two 4" Harlequins and a pair of very ordinary wooden sticks.  Also, could string length play a part in this at all? I plan on getting some fiberglass short sticks and two Henrys Circus diabolos. Another thing is my string gets very dirty and old very quick. Could this also have much to do with the lack of consistancies? I would appriciate any comments.

Thanks,
Frank
