Community & Events / Guinness World Record
« on: July 13, 2007, 09:41:45 PM »

There was a new world record set today for the most diabolos thrown and caught at the same time. I'm not sue of the exact amount but it will probably be around 600.

The story

Me and Zack got an e-mail about a month ago from a governor of a school in Sussex asking us to be the guests of honor. I'll just let you read it

Zack / Marc

Firstly, congratulations on your placings at the WJF UK open. Then onto ‘why on earth is this strange woman you’ve never heard of emailing you’ …

I’m a school governor of Manor Field School in Burgess Hill (Sussex) and we have 600 completely diabolo-mad children, ranging from 4-year-olds who can just about get it spinning to a 9-year-old who can do two on one string. We’re trying to capitalise on the children’s enormous enthusiasm and we’ve managed to persuade Guinness World Records to set up a new record especially for us – ‘most people to toss and catch a diabolo at the same time’. We’re going to stage the event to set the first ever record at 2pm on Friday 13th July and we wondered whether either (both?) of you would fancy being guest of honour at the event. I’m afraid that (as we’re only an ordinary state primary school) we can’t offer performing fees but I would (personally) pay train fares etc if you were able to make it.

Please consider it – it would mean SO much to the children.

Best Regards

Karen Ashworth

I thought it was a bit strange but i still wanted to go, but i wasn't allowed but Zack went and he said the had a good time, maybe he can spread some light on it when he gets back.

I'm sorry it's a bit late for anyone who wanted to go but i completely forgot about it until yesterday.

does this mean diabolo is going main stream? like with the yospin.

(wow, my longest post ever)

Performances / William at BJC
« on: April 30, 2007, 07:57:29 PM »
here is a video of William at the BJC renegade, it was a themed on eurovision, where you had to pick a year out of a hat and you had to perform to the song that United Kingdom sang to. there was, i think, 20 people in the crowed with red cards and when 11 went up you were eliminated. the person who lasted the longest won. William won with a run of over 16 minuets.

sorry about the spelling mistake in the title of the video.

stage 6 is DivX's answer to youtube.
it's a lot like youtube but the quality of the videos are a lot better. you have to upload your videos in DivX but it worth it because it has a download link.
you have to download DivX Player for it to work.

i have uploaded mine and Zack's performance at Leeds fest 06 to stage 6 and youtube, so you can compare the results

stage 6-

what do you think?

« on: December 24, 2006, 09:20:28 PM »
Britain's Got Talent is a British television show scheduled to appear on ITV1 during spring 2007. The talent show will be a search for Britain's next best amateur talent act. It will feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other talents of all ages. Anyone who believes they have talent can audition. The series follows the formula of hit US talent show, America's Got Talent, and is the creation of The X Factor and American Idol judge, Simon Cowell. Noel Edmonds is amongst the personalities rumoured to be presenting the show, however recent reports suggest that Ant & Dec will be presenting. Piers Morgan, David Hasselhoff, Simon Cowell and an unknown female will be judges on the show.

Gear / Allround axles for henrys circus
« on: October 04, 2006, 05:39:17 PM »
I have just purchased 7 allround axles from butterfingers and they didn’t have enough when I first ordered them, so I received 1 axle that looked like this

Then when I received the other 6 they were different, the big washers that go on the out side that were made out of plastic are now made out of metal.

Has the design changed?

Thanks in advance

Videos / 2 Cups and an Axle
« on: July 28, 2005, 08:59:01 PM »
This is the first of many videos to come by 2 cups and an axle. It consists of Chris (diaboloist + juggler), Marc (diaboloist) and Zack (diaboloist) who have been diaboloing for 7 months and Josh (juggler) who has been juggling for just over a year. We are all 14 and are two sets of twins that go to Hullabaloo in Leeds. Please don’t hesitate to post your view about our first video and tell us how we could improve it. It took us just under one hour to make the video including editing. (Links below) (36mb... temporary) thanx to Sean
