Tricks / Differences in the playing-technique: Bearing/Normal
« on: May 31, 2007, 01:50:47 PM »
hi everone!
in times of hightech diabolos like the Flys, bearing diabolos get more common...

which tricks are only possible with bearings, which are only possible with fixed axles, which are easier and which are harder with bearings - and how can you convert tricks from one to another...

stingclimb - only with fixed axles (right?)
2d transfers - easier with fixed axles
sprinkler - easier with fixed axles
sfan - easier with bearings
antispin tricks  - easier with bearings
vertax generally - easier with bearings

and so on...

how do you handle late 2d backwraps with bearings, and that stuff - just collect your thoughts about the differences in playingstyle and technique in this thread..

thank you,

Tricks / I just learnt to... (2007)
« on: January 01, 2007, 03:20:25 PM »
Edit by Sean, November 12 2009:
This is one of many "I just learnt to..." threads which was started by mrbpink back in 2005. Its intended purpose was as follows:

When you learn a new trick you want to show it and tell others that you have achieved something new. This is a thread where you can tell about your latest achievements, doesn't matter if its the string climb or a solid four diabolo shuffle you just learnt, tell us about it! And let others be inspired by what you do!
The original "I just learnt to..." thread wasn the most popular thread on the forum. Long forum threads induce an extra burden on the forum database server, so to keep things running smoothly around here I have started archiving these threads by year.

If you really feel like reading them all, there are about 1000 posts per year (2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005). There may also be more years of threads since this message was written. Have a look around. Otherwise, just post in the most recent version of this thread. It should be near the top of the Tricks section. It almost always is.

Original message follows:
finally 2d suns solid, feed the sun 1-2, 222222 into eternity!
i was struggling for so long with these!

Videos / S-Fan Variations(360°, LayDown, crossed Arms, Underleg,...)
« on: November 27, 2006, 04:17:54 PM »
S-Fan Variations: 360°s, LayDown, crossed Arms, Underleg, tossing 1 up, etc....
i hope its OK to start a new topic on this!

finally i have learned the sfan and now i have it, its really easy for me! ;D
i managed to lay down and stand up while doing sfan, not very clean but ok...
but i have a big problem on learning 360° without destroing the interior of my flat ;) cuz the diabs wont stay on the string!

is it possible to make an 180° and continue with sfan infinitely?
is it easier to turn to the left or to the right(for righties)?
should i turn with the diabolos outside of my arms or under?
is it important to continue with the accelerating motion while turning or is it better to turn quickly in the right moment?
any other tips?
