if thats true then those guys must have never looked into the diabolo community, just like this forum. how happy i feel
Believe it or not, a lot of people in Asia are oblivious to the diabolo community, which is just the same as in any country. Even though Japan, Taiwan, China, etc. are all producing fantastic diaboloists doesn't necessarily mean that the entire country is knowledgeable on the subject

Oh, darn, if only I had found out about this a month earlier.

I don't know if you're still taking opinions, but the majority (#1) is one that I like. I prefer #4 since I like modest t-shirts.

I don't suppose anybody's got a set of Pete/Olobaid's light sticks they'd be willing to part with? I made a request to him back in late spring, but I haven't heard from him since then (I followed up with a second e-mail about a month later, but got no response). If I'm blessed to find someone who has a set they don't want by chance, putting up pictures and an estimated price would be nice. I'd be willing to haggle, but I generally would prefer to spend less than 75USD (excluding shipping) My expectations aren't high, but it never hurts to try. (Unintentional rhyme )

I see Sharpes in there...
Flo
I like how even their diabolos have the same diabolo scheme (red/yellow)

Ah, I remember this troupe! They came to my town a little less than a year ago, and I remember their mesmerizing performance! Truly well choreographed and fun to watch. It's a shame if you missed the show, it's certainly something you should try to see.

Saito, you are amazing. Did that trick at around 0:33 remind anyone else of Will's (Australian) vertax move ? I want to figure out how to do that ._.

anyone else notice the custom flys?
I wouldn't be too surprised, since the Sundia shop is a short walk from the place that he practices (TPEC, I believe?), and TPEC and Sundia do a bit of collabrative work (i.e. promotional sales, sponsors, etc.) I believe he's chinese first of all. Techincally, it's Taiwanese :<

Hey all, I just wanted to share a great video with everyone of the 舞鈴高手 (Diabolo Dance) group from Taiwan. Here, they're performing at the recent Taiwanese presidential inauguration, doing a fantastic group performance. There's flawless synchronization within this group of diaboloist (a large amount performing at once, over 10 on stage at several points) and it's certainly not one of those "run-of-the-mill" Taiwanese diabolo videos, so don't worry about simply seeing a boring 3D shuffle :p I also wanted to add that this group has a variety of different performances, one of which I saw when they came over to the states during this past autumn, where they still have great group performances, but with different themes and songs for their audience to enjoy. Anyways, enough of my bantering, here's the video: [youtube=425,350]oyRSIo8KzWg EDIT: Oh, I found a portion of that performance from fall 2007, enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp9YOasmoHQ

still tho it is far to low, with a co-efficent that low the diab 'should' glide on the string for 20 min's
Ah, well, we can't be too sure, since the Sharpes (or whichever one had performed the experiment) had noted that their measurement of the coefficient wasn't necessarily accurate because it was hard to measure...

as that video was up, it made me think: what about a 3D ping-pong trick do those bounces but continuously instead of doing an anti shuffle in between
janion
Ooo, that'd be pretty sweet, but pretty hard, since the changing momentum would probably be too great to be able to switch back and forth constantly... That brings me to the idea of arches with 3 diabs Anyone up for it?
Do you mean like a cascade, as opposed to a shuffle?

That was a cool performance. I especially loved how this guy picked up so well with the music; like in the first part, where he uses a "bee" with a fitting song Too bad the filming was a bit mediocre... They didn't get that flip+catch very well, and the images of the diabolos were blurry...

I guess the low coefficient is necessary to prevent the axle gripping with the string too often? That would seem to be a logical answer for me...

Awesome , Marron is such a great diaboloist! I remember in the first Higami video he did a double vertax genocide with a finger bounce like this (except not held out so long), and another one like that, but doing a "normal" finger grind in the midst of a vertax genocide.

And old @William: Regardless of what's easier, starting from an orbit into the box would certainly look more classy than just putting your leg through once the trick has started.

Nev, I think you're interpreting what we're saying too extremely. Yes, it's true that we aren't so happy about the price when we have the opportunity to get them cheaper, but it's not like we're going on and bashing the various sites. We're merely stating that it's more cost effecient to buy direct than to buy through a vendor that is redistributing the merchandise. And this goes especially towards n3mo, Chickeneater72790, willum89, and myself since we've got that opportunity through our ethnicity (Chinese/Taiwanese), so of course we're going to take advantage of, and point out this convenience. Also, willum89 acknowledged, and I'm sure the rest of us are aware of this, too, that diabolo vendors do need to make a living, and sell at a great proportion in order to make a living Diabolos aren't like food where you can sell a ton everyday so to make a living off selling them you have to make like 300% profit atleast on each one or you're kinda gonna starve and be a diaboloing hobo.
No need to get so grouchy...
