I'd recommend you use Acceleration Loops as standard, but Chinese Acceleration becomes handy sometimes, so you might want to get these down as well. They are nice for getting alot of speed as soon as possible, but Acceleration Loops are much more consistant, and it's much smoother on your gear. Do it all, man! Yeh, I guess you're right. Has anyone here come up with an original way of speeding their diabolo up?
Yeah. Throw your diabolo on to your string, bring the whole thing up to your head, and then blow really hard on it and pray! pus<3

Mr. Babache cups are soft, but they aren't really that durable, and they don't keep their shape that good.
I recommend Henrys, cause they're more solid and durable. And more than soft enough.
edit: If you're looking for a more quiet play, you should use Mr. Babache, cause these are much lighter. But i would still recommend Henry's! Light diabolos aren't nessesary better.

Buy better string
Buy Henry's yellow string. And it won't happen again
YEAH!! you can't do **** without it. it's elementary. And maybe you should switch string a little more often. You should also check out the topic about making the string more slippery! MY personal recommendation is just to rub the string gently on your neck before playing It'S a KInDA MAGIc wOOOh!

It's one of the first advanced tricks I ever learned actually, and it's not very difficult. Just practice the motion and get comfortable with throwing the diabolo on to your string. It's also very important that you hold your hand in the right angle, parallell with the diabolo. I find that the best slide is on the very tip of my index finger, but the slide shouldn't be a problem. as long as the diabolo has enough speed to stick grind I can do a pretty long finger grind too, so just catch the diabolo wherever it feels comfortable.
and btw: you really don't need those wide axles. I find it kind of fake. The finger grind is much more fun if you can manage them with a normal axle. I use jazz btw.

yeah, it is a matter of preference, but I still think 1.60 is a little long if your 1.60 in height.. 1.60 is perfect for me though, cause I'm 1.85.

Haha.. funny subject! I remember back when I first discovered diabolo when I was 7. One of the most insane tricks we knew about then was 50-50, witch really just was a regular Grind I think they called it that inspired from the skateboard grind, 50-50. That's kinda lame though, cause the diabolo grinds at just one point, not two like a skateboard xD -pus

Bearing man.. like Spinastics superspin or Yoho Spinabolo. It's basically a diabolo where the axle has a bearing in it, if you know what that is..
anyways, It's not gonna help much to complain about your diaboloing. I used to have the exact same "problem", but soon figured out that you just have to be creative, patient and optimistic. Want combos? Make combos! Don't know how? Figure it out! The key is to have fun with it and try to come up with your own style. Your own tricks, your own combos, variations or whatever.. Just go!
