Performances / Alex Zebrowski Performance« on: November 11, 2005, 01:29:02 AM »
On the topic of the music, I was very happy to hear a unique selection. It seems that teenagers doing juggling acts tend to pick a pop hit or their favorite song. Alex certainly did neither, and in my opinion, he did it to great effect.

This is a performance from this past Saturday (the fifth) or Alex Zebrowski. The vid is from the open stage of the St. Ignatius, Rubber City Ulitmate Symposium (S.I.R.C.U.S) in Cleveland. I was really impressed with the quality of the routine (only one drop) and the style and flow of the tricks. Its one and two diabolos. Check it out! Dude's been diaboloing for two years. 4

General / Diabolo Styles & "What is your style"?« on: October 24, 2005, 12:32:49 AM »Quote Norbi said American - Big tricks, speed up, big trick, etc... (ok, this isnt really a style as such, just thought i'd add it in for Matt) I'll vouch for this being a legitimate style. Its similar to the American "vegas" style toss juggling: focusing on big tricks and stationary motion, or moving around the stage as a way to go from big trick to another big trick. 6

Hmm, good call on Fourtet and Boards of Canada. Have you heard M83? They have the same sort of thing going on. Not quite as good as Rattattat or Out Hud in the electronic zone in my opinion, but really good listening.

Despite knowing none of the language, I reccomend the song Feliz Naminaja by the same group (Organism 12). Its a fun song.

I enjoy watching your videos because you don't have that same smooth "french" style that everyone is trying to imitate of late. Keep up the fresh stuff!
:edit: Oh ya, burly horizontal whipping. 15

How's the 180 fan treating you cm?
I definatly loaned out Bill's diabs I was using, so I haen't diaboloed since IJA. ![]() I guess Zebows went really French on us with his diabolo poi. We're definatly going to be fliming early this year. Anyway, I just learned (well hit for the first time today) the five club 5 up 360 and a clean flash of 5 club backcrosses on doubles back to the pattern. All handles! Woot. Oh, maybe I should talk about diabolos. Well before I loaned out "my" diabolos I hit The infinte/major genocide/duicide/infinite suicide thing Matt Hall taught me. Cool trick. 18

Pittsburgh to Cleveland isn't to long of a drive. Check out SIRCUS on the 5th and 6th of November. Right in downtown Cleveland. The whole Cleveland crew will be there. That's alot of diaboloing. We've got the whole gamut of skill level from total n00bs with 1 or 2 months of diaboloing under their belts to some guys who are pulling pretty good 3 low patterns out of late.

Gear / The wind diabolo... just some ideas.« on: August 15, 2005, 09:42:32 PM »
I highly doubt this will work due to issues in balance and aerodynamics. I doubt the propellers would create enough force to have any effect on anything. However, I'm interested in seeing your result. To get mini-propellers, check out a hobby store where they sell remote controll planes. They have all sizes of propellers for not to much $$$ like this one from Hobbytown (less than a buck).
