I'm fairly certain there was some pictures in the gallery showing the differences...
The only problem being that the gallery seems to have disappeared!!! Any chance of getting it back??

How about over 50%
These things happen, and surely this makes good viewing So you enjoyed watching the second half?? Yes the first half makes good viewing but the whole video?... No. I'd have made the same comment on this video, it doesn't matter what standard you are at.

Entertaining stuff.. Good tune too, though I'd have gone with 'Magic Bus' by The Who...

A video that is 40% black screen, doesn't make good viewing.
You could fade out the song at the end of your footage, use a shorter song, or film enough stuff to fill the track.
Bumping your own topic because no one has replied after less than a day probably won't do you any favours - people will get round to watching and commenting in their own time.

I think Sean has summed it up quite well, and as Martijn says the only way to tell is from extended use. I have put some pictures here www.diabolo.tipi.co.uk to give you an idea of the differences. Another option you could consider (cheaper?) is JC's kits for the Finesse - http://diabolo.ca/forum/index.php?topic=4205.0 - which gives you the axle shape similar to the Taibolo, with the durability of a Finesse, and reduces the weight slightly.

I have just noticed that the 'Recent Topics' option has disappeared from the navigation bar. Is this a result of the upgrade to Beta 4?
Could we have it back please, I found it useful.

With the rip off, the diabolo ends up on the backside of the string - if you just let the string slip off your sticks the diabolo will fall to the floor. The Magic knot, when you slip the string off the sticks, the diabolo remains on the string.
Hope this helps.

but then a wrap can be used to make a sun so the sun is unecessary - or at least not a principle.
Conversely you could argue that a sun can be used to make a wrap, so wraps are not a principle. But, as you can do a sun without getting a wrap, or get a wrap without doing a sun, I think they have to be kept as seperate principles. What is 'real minicolumns'?
I think these are the nice controlled ones everyone else does, as opposed to my surreal ones...

Regarding funding, the best time for this is towards the end of the schools financial year. They get an annual budget, which means early in the year they are careful with the pennies, come the end if they have money left they will spend it. If they don't spend it, they lose it, and if they didn't need it this year, they won't get it next year.
I'm not sure if the National Lottery would help, but would certainly be worth looking into.
Hope this is of some use.

The general consensus so far is that creativity = new tricks.
Creativity can also be the way you use and present the tricks - whether they are new or time honoured classics. Eric and Antonin illustrated this point with their Fil et Refile trailer - the tricks weren't anything new from what they had been doing in Diabology two years previous, but what they had done was take the tricks outside the box, explored them, and come up with a 'creative' show.
Creativity works on many levels, don't limit yourself.

I have one in very good condition, that doesn't get used any more if you're still looking.

I ddin't bother with the second part.
You are talented, and you learn incredibly fast. You have the ability to be a truly amazing diaboist, but your not becasue you keep churning out un-original, seen before tricks. If you took care and time over what you were doing, and came up with some really nice, clean original stuff then you would be alot better.
Same for me. Having sat through one seven minute video I'd totally lost interest. If you have good original stuff put it in ONE seven minute video, that way people are more likely to watch the whole thing and not give up half way. Yes you are talented, and as Alex said you have the ability to be an amazing diabolist, but perhaps it is time to take a step back from learning new tricks and concentrate on style and performance.

The Tornado is a smaller lighter version of the Finesse. TAKE A LOOK AT THE FINISHED EVO. 2 for Finesse!!!
If you also look at the Catalog News 2008 you will see the only kits listed are the Evo 1, 3, 4 and the new 5 (prism things) - NO mention of the fabled Evo 2 - don't get too excited!!

Ping pong is different from mini columns. I'd imagine 1 ping ponging(?) over the other two shuffling below. I think John?, nope David tried a cascade, I've been working on it, really hard.
Cascade, I think I've managed a weak four, I haven't worked on it recently.
Either you are or you aren't... Make your mind up!!

Excellant topic Looby, perhaps the position 'Chief Fundraiser' should be created...
Glad to see some positive results already, though a shame it needs a thread to get people thinking about it.
