Winners OF THE OFFICIAL .CA GAMES!
all games inclduing round the  arm           Susannah

I remembered as we were leaving that that was actualy a lie. You and Looby both went further than I did on the second run (when I had 2d and you all had 1 :P ) as I dropped.

I had a great time. It was, as always, good to catch up with people.

I enjoyed watching Looby and Dave bonding, it was like love at first sight, hehe. You wouldn't have guessed they had only just met.

@Dave - You really should have come back for the second weekend. You can make up for it by coming to the whole thing next year :)

I actually managed to learn something new, well sort of new. I can spin a smaller ball than I used to be able to (it looks cooler than it sounds). Thanks for convincing me to get it Sean.

All in all it was a great convention and I can't wait for the next one.

Sweet video! I really liked the eiffel tower made out of triangles.

I have beads on my sticks and have played around a bit with pulling them out, but never really went anywhere with it, so haven't broken many beads. It might be worth testing out different types of beads (perhaps wooden or metal ones?) if you haven't already.
I came up with a 2d trick where I use my teeth to pull out the string and pop one out of the shuffle on to it. It's not quite as stylish as your stuff, but it's good fun :)

I was wondering about that, but I decided to use the names I got when people sent me the clips. I got that clip and in the field where you put your real name, it said Suzanne. Sorry about that!

Well I got Looby to send in my clip, so it must be his fault :p You did a great job, and it's good to be in it regardless.

ps: In every d.ca collab, i always loves "suzanne's" 2D combos

ps: thanks! :)

Who is this "Suzanne" person?

I was wondering about that.  :( I shall have to watch it again at some point so I can pay attention to more of the tricks rather than obsessing about that little error.

Cool video though, nicely done everyone!

I'm still not quite sure if I've figured out what you're doing, but I like it.

I'll be there for the whole thing :) Yay, only 3 more days of work to go!

I'm planning on filming my submission for the collaboration while I'm there. Now I just need a decent camera and a worthwhile trick, hmm.

I could do with a lift from London, but I doubt I'll get one before tomorrow morning :( looks like it the 40p train. England is expensive! How do you people live here?

Wow that's cheap, I have to spend over 2000p on getting the train every week :P

I'll be getting to Norwich sometime this afternoon, looking forward to it!

Susannah, you should be able to teach a workshop on arm stuff?? You rock at arm stuff!
A very slight change I'll be there but in that case I'll bring you a chocolate sandwich, whatever that might be.

I know I can do it, but teaching it is a different matter. I have got some ideas, but different perspectives would be good.
Thanks, but to be honest I only said I wanted one because Mark got one, I don't really like chocolate spread, hehe.
It would be cool to meet you, hope you make it.

I should have made more chocolate sandwiches for people...

Where's my chocolate sandwich? :(

If anyone thinks they can help me with the 2d arm/leg orbit workshop, let me know. I'm struggling to remember learning round the arm and there is very little on the forum about it.

Anyhoo, why Brighton?

It's nicer than London. Plus it's two trains for me to get into London as well.

Good plan anyway, I'll be up for it if people want to do it on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

« on: March 02, 2009, 08:25:18 PM »
That was indeed a good convention.
The games were really fun and varied thanks to Chiok and Void did a great job of compering.
It was a little dissapointing to discover that Mark has overtaken me with 2d high, I just can't compete with that many 31s. We'll have to think of something else to try and beat each other at that I actually have a chance with. Round the arms? hehe.
I was really pleased that I actually managed to come second in the 5 ball endurance, I suspect it wasn't a particularly long one, but still.
The show was really good, except for the excessive fog. Not having seen any of the acts before was something of a novelty and I now have an urge to do more passing as well as wanting to lear some bar flair moves.

Hope to see some of you next week at Nottingham.

Now that's just not true, I didn't win at BoB even though I cheated. (I thought we had agreed that it was gladiators as 2d endurance is just silly, but I'm not sure everyone else was aware of that)
I've only ever one two proper games (that means with prizes) and they were both at Crawley.

I do not use 'haxs'. I'm just good :p

2 round the leg gladiators is definitely the best diabolo game.

Definitely.

I think 2d round the arm gladiators would be good too, but I'm not sure anyone else would agree.

That rocked! Good job Martijn :) and everyone who was in it of course.
It was all so good I don't think it's necessary to list highlights (plus everyone else has beaten me to it) but Jonny's trick was great.
