Tricks / Re: Which tricks are cool now?
« on: July 01, 2021, 07:30:14 PM »
So that thing Fernando is doing of turning the diabolo while catching releasing minigenocides is quite trendy now. It at least got to, or was initiated, in Asia.
Also Fernando has that family of fan variations that is a complete new trend. Problem is, it seems too hard that nobody follows it. Short like with Joona and Eljas. You could like the tricks, but make them, or evolve them... good luck with that.

What Ivano does, Guillaume with the popping dancing and so on. That is rather newish. Ah! Of course Willem as an amazing amount of body combos and creative stuff. It is gold!

These guys are amazing, only creative stuff. Very underrated. Even the PAO judges gave Luis the lowest points in creativity during the classification.
They need more coverage, this a flagrant case of underappreciated art. I get following so many different tweaks of whips and fans is arduous, but come on, do your homework! :P

---- More serious answer ----
To me, it seems that most fashion is the same as you left. 1D genocides. Sometimes it feels like if we were all secretly longing to play poi. And old players might feel forced to learn all the variants so kids don't laugh at them in conventions. I might be one of those.
The battle for 5 low was super intense last years, and I feel it is getting calmer. Probably people are creating tricks and storing to hit big before the next Top 20 diaboloists from 2021 from Chloe and The Diabolo Prince (Damian).
There is a real bunch of players exploring slacks in ultimate ways. Easier to follow than Langerz. This guy is gold https://www.instagram.com/simt0917/
Takuto does everything: https://www.instagram.com/takuto_nagasaka/
The 3low tricks ladder is so deep that the rabbit gave up long ago. They are happily sailing forward, headed by Sebi and others, and creating an incomprehensible mass of 3d low tricks. You name it, 3d is the new 1d. But people in Asia don't come back to shuffle after FTS combos, disgraceful. I think it gives so much value to the already insanely good for its time with Feed The Suns (the guy with a mask and synchronous shuffle)
For high Damian claims it is quiet, people accumulating tricks I hope. Same bosses as before, Robin (seems less active), Ronnie, Jose Concha, Damian, Pieter (rather inactive), ... probably I miss very important ones.

One diabolo Body combos are also a bit down. Ivano is great at them. The Taiwan raising star https://www.instagram.com/ivano.huang/

And vertax is, well, distance itself from the concept of rubbish as constant and far as possible. Mad stuff.
This guy is VeRy good: https://www.instagram.com/j.kanno97/

Now please, everybody, correct and complete what I wrote, nice topic :)

Do you mean diabolo channels?

(translated Finnish-English by Facebook)

The Finnish Diabolose Club is now a member of the World Juggling Federation. This is how the Finnish diabolos club is no longer just representative of diabolojuggling as a sport, but all juggling as a sport. Our goal is that juggling and also diabolojongling would be an Olympic sport in the future.

Community & Events / Re: Top 20 Diabolo Players of 2020
« on: February 02, 2021, 03:36:16 PM »
Very nice! Thanks for posting it here, frontpage!

Questions
- Tell me, what are you, personally, or you, the three that organized, would prefer? What are your preferred criteria to be voted?
For example, are videos released during the year the thing that needs to be valued most? Is that true with exceptions, like for players with an outstanding career?
- How were the honorable mentions chosen? I guess it is 21th, 22nd, or something similar.
- Maybe it would be nice to see a list with the percentage of votes that each person got from the total of voters. To see how close it was.

I am personally ok with the criteria being wild and open, peronally I think I voted for players that can inspire others to:
1- Be more creative and aesthetic
2- Work harder to push the barriers
3- Encourage non-players to start playing diabolo (I don't know how to measure that, but somehow Chihhan Chao has it :))

----- This is the feedback I wrote from Whattsapp@Diabolo Europe -----
I love this thing. It truly made me smile the whole way. I have remembered how much I love my weirdos. ❤️
I have no idea who is that person in the 4th place, but if I had a kingdom, I would surely want him to be the prince and win the battles andtcetera.
Many tricks made me scream, that feed 1234, mniam. Seeing Ronnie 1st after so many years of struggle pushing the boundaries, and after that text where he spoke of the frustration in the 5D low race.... its satisfying af :) hats off! :) What about going on stage for the next battle? You don't want to beat Pen only in offline videos! :P
The little neck thing by clement made hm, 5 times in a row ❤️
When I saw Robin I wanted to hug my computer, so happy he is there. If I had a kingdom and I had to write the history of it ... blabla, Robin is King.
Super happy to see Chole so high!
Liam's trick is like if the props were made out of velvet.
I wonder why there are so few Asians....
Pen, Noe, ... Conche is too low.
Baston went out in 2020? Well, Etienne will get 1st, maybe with training :P

Nice thing to watch many things to think of... diabolo at its best!

I think the video, its tricks, filming, the routine building, the light choreography, and execution-style all together, provide the nicest string watching experience in diabolo history. I think that am truly honest when I state that.
xx

Crackers must be recorded this properly at least once.

Is that Sundia thicker string?

Bam!! Super nice to watch, thanks a tribimillion!

And thanks for the all capitals in my name, prestige :P :)

[I've split the thread from http://diabolo.ca/forum/index.php?topic=14904.0 to frontpage it, first time :O]

I'm very sorry about all that, but I confess I still can giggle at the image of you trying.
I'm also beyond extenuated. The world seems to have gone full Squeezer mode.
I feel like an orange that better gets properly refilled until the next express round or will pay.

I would like to try to help, this guy hits home for me, so much it feels more home.
I watch it each 1 or 2 days, in the morning. Even if the video is addressed to younger people, yayks.

All the best [performs just made up weird Diabolo Secret Society salutation and hits Enter]

But you made me giggle, another x to the plus side.
What you lost and how?
You cannot leave the trillions of readers of diabolo.ca raving for the solution of this alluring mystery of yours, can you?
Was it due to Covid? That s*** is merciless, man.

Such a chromatic beauty, that brownish-reddish tone from the altar must be the best color ever.
Best diabolo ever religion-wise.

2:28 leg stick catapult
2:54 oh boy, hard to describe it, but half turn ground sliding between the legs genocide bum!
3:20 no sticks diabolo one hand duicide! <3
4:42 credits pose is a trick itself. Note the timing of first highlight and this. Can't be a coincidence.

Bubbles, bubbles, bullets, bubbles!
