Videos / excalibur/vertax genocides« on: June 17, 2006, 01:21:40 PM »Quote I always see people in videos catching the string against their body, but my stick doesn't come that far. I usually have ot try to catch it out of the air. Maybe I'm starting to pirouette too early? I don't know. I had that problem when i was practicing them, what i found was that its suprising how hard you have to swing round to get the catch. When i was putting a bit more force into it, i was catching the diabolo and the stick would come alot closer. Hope that helps. Chris. 8

I dont know if this is any help to any one but i used the wet dry paper aswell as Mark BMC. I found if you use a very rough piece first and then use a finer grain it helps. Another good thing to use after is wire wool which polishes it quite nicely, which probably reduces friction or something.

I really enjoyed the convention and got back at 6pm today, i really enjoyed the impromtu trick endurance's with marco last night in the bar tent although him and norbi won most of them.
I thought the BYJOTY went really well considering it was only luke who was organising it so thanks to him. I enjoyed being on stage and it also gave me a good chance to talk to some jugglers that i normally wouldnt. Quote some great routines as well as a guy I don't know (white finesses red string?) but were hampered by a sloping tent ceiling. For a first time performance, it was amazing. Yeah that was me i thought the routine went well except i just couldnt get into a sprinkler at the end for some reason which i think would have ended my routine quite nicely. Quote Chris from brum represented well and was great company during the convention. Yeah seán_ it was quite good on saturday night at 5am trying different tricks after that poor renegade (apart from the guy with the contact balls and the condensed public show). All in all it was a great convention and thanks to the organisers and Matt Hall who watched my vertax genocide attempts for ages on sunday giving me tips. Chris. 10

Yeah but you wouldnt learn the ambitous card until you got the DL. I think thats the whole point of this thread rather than how many tricks you have got. Plus from my point of view, magicians like to have only a few tricks because there concealing something from an audience, so they need to remember every bit of it and plus, make a short routine around that 1 trick. General / 3d instants« on: January 10, 2006, 04:55:34 PM »Quote I can then get out the third, and people will really be shocked. hmmm i dunno, if someone asks me if i can do 2 when im doing one people ask me then if i can do three. I reckon if you got that third out they would want to see 4. Maybe im wrong Chris 12
